Sort of your standard "girl in a wheat field at sunrise" sort of shot, which is super over done.
That said, it looks nice from a color perspective. The composition needs serious work though. Having some grass in the foreground is great, but having both of their heads completely bisected is just dumb. Your subject shouldn't be obscured.

You're still in your "I need to be playing with my camera at all times" phase, and while it's a fun phase to be in, and while it does a lot to get you comfortable with the camera, it very rarely produces a photo worth looking at. Work on picking subject matter that will resonate with your viewer, work on composition and limiting distractions in your frame, and work on being self aware, so that you can select which photos are truly worth sharing, and which are just for you to learn from privately. These four have nothing to offer your viewer.
They also lack the polish of being processed nicely, but that comes later.

Saying something is wrong without saying why or how to improve it for next time is more damaging than saying nothing at all. The composition in the OP image is completely fine. It's environmental in an immersive way, and yet keeps focus on the models. Composition is not a goal, it's a tool, and in the OP image, it's doing its job well.

Model posing is a bit stiff and awkward (look at the model on the right's hand, it looks like a lifeless club) and it would be an improvement to be able to see the right girl's face. When directing models, it's good to tell them to be very graceful and gentle. Moving her hand lower down the arm would remove the bend from her wrist, and telling her to just place her finger-tips on her arm would give a bit of life to her hand. It would also look more like a shot taken in the middle of motion, to give a tiny hint of life to the pose. It also looks like they're mid-conversation, which is a shame. Personally, I would give them the direction I just gave, and then shoot a bunch of photos while they go through different expressions. Maybe do one where the blond girl is looking off somewhere while the brunette is still focused on her, etc.

I already addressed my disagreement with his composition in my first post in this thread. And as I said, the colors and the tone are great (despite being cliche), but the fact that he has grain stalks impaling their faces is just poor composition, and it's wrong. In the OP, that tool is NOT doing it's job well.

I've been using 2.35:1 for landscapes for a bit now. After watching the H8ful Eight feature video I've been interested in 2:35:1. I think it works nice, however for this picture the crop really kills the detail in the trees. The light was so nice today I wish I could've exploited it a bit more.

I think I see what you're going for: a straight on photograph of an apartment with repetitive windows. When it comes to straight-on photos, I think you need to pay careful attention to the composition of the frame, such as the way objects are placed. I think in this photo here the pole in front of the windows on the right could be better placed (if not removed), along with the graffiti on the ground and the mysterious splat which is all curiously aligning with the door (whether or not that's a problem is up to you). The presence of plant life (other than the grass) interrupts the rigid artificial feeling of the photo.

Well, thank lord Foveon, because it can kinda be done - this is already pretty cropped and at ISO 400 which is the upper limit for usable color pics, I was snapping one handed while helping mom, just wanted to see how the Smegma camera handled all those nifty reflecting fish parts. I need to go back and try again, this time focused on taking pictures on a proper fish market because it was fun.

It was a super quick capture in the heat of the moment. The high-key tones of the photo are due to mild overexposure. The B&W processing saved the photo and it actually turned out quite well.

Most external flash guns will have a movable head, meaning you can aim the flash against the ceiling and it'll bounce back as much softer light. Flash straight on is extremely harsh light and creates very sharp shadows which aren't flattering. The image I've posted shows you the difference.
If you're looking to get more into portraiture, having a solid knowledge on lighting and flash is essential. The Strobist (google him) has some of the best guides on good lighting. I'd also recommend buying a decent external flash with TTL abilities (like auto mode for flash) as well as some basic lighting stuff like softboxes, reflectors, bounce cards and diffusers. A word of warning when buying a flash though: each camera brand uses a slightly different form of TTL, so make sure the flash you buy is compatible with Fuji.
