>>652525
taht is the continental divide
this is the chessapeek bae
>>652528
hurr is the suskyuehannah river
I've got lots of real/nice pitchers but I just stumbled upon this. It's my cambin spot in the early spring. It's completely shrouded in thick greenness during summer, like a hidden little clearing.
>>652529
shenandoah virginia
some mountains in there to
>>652531
this poor guy is /out/ too rite?
>>652530
forgot pitcher
>>652532
here's some trees in mary land
>>652533
one more of a glorious warm autumn day
>>652533
Cool that the forked tree there fell into the other upright tree there.
>>652539
it was one big tree that originally fell and it took two smaller trees down with it (one of which is the forked tree). it made a cool stockade-esque clearing which i why i made it my cambin spot. that tree is perfect for lashing a tarp if the weather goes akimbo
here's a selfie of me walking on the big tree trunk with the rootball in the background. it's hard to make out because it gets so damned green out there. the big tree is the on directly in the center of my previous photo, but you can't see the root mound because of all the limbs, even though it's like 10ft tall
>>652545
>>652539
i keep forgetting to attach the pics
took this at Devils canyon in eastern oregon
This is atop the firetower on Apple Pie Hill.
It was real fucking windy that day and I was certain that I was gonna die, but it was really pretty.
>>652550
>dem endless conifers
if i was a giant i would roll around on that like a rug
Cimmarron, NM. Baldy Ridge
>>652552
Nope, Atlantic Northeast
Here's the same spot at the end of summer. It's thickest in late June-July I'd say
>>652556
Dang, I didn't know y'all have that many ferns up there. The only time I've seen foliage that thick is up outside of Corvallis and Portland, and along the Northern California coast.
Another one from Cimmarron
>>652551
Not so bad from the bottom either!
>>652557
yeah it gets pretty whacky. my friends always moan when they camp wth me because we like to wander around and explore the woods at night and it's pretty hairy sometimes with the prickers and ticks, and with the thick fern coverage you can't see where you're stepping so you'll roll an ankle pretty easily
>>652564
That's beautiful. The ticks sound like a drag though, but I like the challenge of not having a well manicured trail to follow.
>>652551
You'd get some bad chiggers m8
>>652579

>>652441
Almost to the top of pinnacle mtn in Little Rock.
The girl I was with wouldn't have enjoyed the deep-woods excursions that I prefer, so we hit a state park with a view. I took this while she was resting.
>>652623
Of Sedona in general or Coffee Pot Rock in particular?
Here's another one of Coffee Pot Rock from another angle that has been up before.
These kind of threads are what I live for
>>652528
This one is so damn gorgeous. Could only imagine what it looked like irl in that moment. I feel like pictures never really capture the full intensity and all.

Seriously?
>>653180
Well every picture in the thread is from murrica... just making an observation.
>>653192
I really like capturing small intimate moments with /out/ photography. I find beauty in the smallest of things. People tend to like sweeping vistas, but the smaller experiences in the trip are what I find most beautiful.
An unusual flower, a butterfly that flutters and follows you, a glimpse of an animal scampering through the woods, the way the sun creates shadow in a forest. It's what I remember most.
>>653201
Dumping a few pics from my trip to the Adirondacks this October

>>653233
That there picture makes me want a beer and a fishing pole. Nice.
>>653190
Murricans think much of murrica is picturesque, so we take lots of pictures.

Thinking of doing a Great Lakes car trip this summer. Looks like we'll be passing through some nice territory.
>>653275
Do it!
There are a lot of great state parks on the north shore of Superior. This was at Tettegouche, but you should look into Cascade and Temperance River as well.
>>653281
Thinking about taking a train ride that way then renting an RV for a week or 10 days. My kids would really love the train ride. That'll depend on what I find out when I get into researching RV rentals. We might tent it or pull the popup.
>>653237
Damn... that's a good picture.
>>653322
Thanks. It took some sneaking to get it.
>>652442
Oh hey it's sedonabrah again with the potato camera
This is at a well-walked trail over in Bryce. I always figured Bryce was just some forgotten bastard brother of Zion, but it can hold its own in some regards.

Only got to spend a day there on the way back home from taking the kids to Disneyland. I think I'd like to go for about a week some time.

>Just seeing that word makes my legs itch
Yep. We've got a membership to a ranch club here in west Texas and everybody got into some this summer stomping around the bass lake. Second time I've had them. Little bastards suck.

An abandoned farm pond near Yorkville, Illinois. My friend lives next door, surrounded by 350 acres of woods and prairies. Just got back from staying with him.
>>655490
Same area. In the woods about half a mile west.
>>655474

>>655604
Don't think you can. This is part of the Olympic National Rainforest, so access to certain areas is sometimes pretty tough.
Thanks, probably the best photo I've ever taken.
Here is another on of my favorites from a trip I did to Glacier National Park in September
>>655610
Just had to ask.
My meme gene is telling me I hiked it ~69-71, and back then there were remains of a wooden cabin.
You could only reach it at low tide, if same...
Stirs my childhood memories.
>>655597
that looks like a very shitty camping spot
>>655617
O I'm not sure. I didn't see anything like that there and it definitely didn't seem like you could have hiked out there during low tide. There were a lot of islands peppered through out that hike. Maybe it was a different one
>>655618
It was actually pretty solid
Nice, big flat grassy spot, 3 1/2 - 4 feet above the sand. I had zero complaints
The sawtooth ridge connecting Mt Bierstadt and the Mt Evans/Spalding saddle.
Seen from ~100 feet below bierstadt summit
Glass lake and the glacier gorge cirque in rocky mtn national park
From the summit of Mt Shavano. Forgot what direction this is looking in.
I love the lighting in this pic
>>655639
Who doesn't like a good ice cave once in a while?
>>655644
>>655334
Spent the night there, and I'm looking forward to coming back when it gets warmer. There is a lot to explore there if you aren't afraid to climb rocks and bring extra water.
