Anybody else made a bow before? This is where I'm at

I got a compound for christmas and haven't really gotten to shoot it due to noarrows. I debated making some but I heard a compound boy will shatter wooden arrows.

Is this true?

Yes
get aluminum or carbon fiber arrows

>mfw I made the riser backwards, it faces the back of the bow
>finish the bow
>32lb pull
>backwards riser
>snapped limb after maybe 80 shots.
never again, not without a bandsaw and various other wood work tools.

Am I better off making a traditional bow, then?

Is there a good guide to that?
>>
>>711852
its probably cheaper and easier to just buy arrows online. unless you really want to make something

here's the guide I'm using

Yep, cut down an ash tree, split it, and everything. It came out alright. Not too pretty, but functional and "primitive". I'm working on spinning the bowstring out of flax.

Pic is old, but the tiller looks fucked regardless of how accurate it is because one limb has a set and the other is straight but isn't parallel to the handle, and angles towards the archer.

I'm trying to make my own arrows and knap the heads out of glass. Getting a piece of wood that straight is tough, though. I went to a butcher to try to get sinew but they didn't have any, so I used dental floss for the fletching instead.
