So walking along the trail today something blue caught my eye. See it's a little box. Didn't read it first as assume it's some geocaching thing. Open it up and rotten hamster falls out and onto my leg.

God damn it, who the fuck...
>>
Once I was on a trail very near populated areas, but on a portion hard enough and a few miles out so not all that many people traverse it.

I was exploring off trail a bit near a viewing spot when I spotted a well made wooden cross driven deeply into the ground. There was some kind of floral arrangement tied around it, along with a zip lock bag full of papers.

The papers ended up being pictures of a man and his family, he had killed himself at that spot. One of the paper was a letter written to him after his death from his sister. Apparently none of his family even knew he was depressed, it was extremely sudden and unexpected. He didn't tell them anything and his sister was pleading for answers.

Made me think really hard, I was depressed for days.
>>
think i stumbled across a cabin that had been used as a grow house for weed. power outlets all around and rotted bags of gardening soil outside. newspapers there were from '96. also a trailer with shelves and a bottle of fertilizer
>>

I was back in the middle of the woods and there was just a truck in the thick of it. Like a truck, with no wheels miles away from the road. I mean I have no clue how it got there, because it was rough terrain, cliffs and hills.
>>
>>649831
i was fishing on a canadian lake miles from civilization, and on this tiny little island in the middle of it was the rusted out hulk of a snowmobile
>>
Did you poop in it?

Well shit.

I guess I really will have to wander out far into the wilderness so no one like you finds my body when it's finally time.

Is there an address on the box?
You could poop in it and leave it back on the doorstep of where it came from.

I was walking on some trails not far from my house, and I decided to climb along on the rocks parallel to the trail because I was a kid and climbing is fun. I saw what looked like a few pieces of crumpled paper stuffed between the rocks, an then I saw another which was quite clearly a printed photograph of a man's erect penis sticking out of his boxers.
>>
>>649975
Oh another time I went hiking with my Uncle. He decided to build a fire and roast hotdogs for his lunch, so he dug a firepit, and found a tin box with a letter inside of it and some other things. Water had left the paper in poor shape and we lacked context on what it was talking about, but it seemed to be a little shrine or memory box for a dead relative
>>
Last one that I remember is somebody fixed an old phone to a tree in the middle of the woods. The phone had a little space on which phone numbers could have been written, and someone had wrote bird names like Cardinal, bluebird, etc. The whole thing was a play on term "bird calls"
>>
The weirdest thing I've found is an abandoned bulldozer in the middle of fucking nowhere. sort of like >>649831.

A washing machine out of nowhere, someone carried it pretty far just to get rid of it.

I have seen several odd things while kayaking. In Kentucky's Red River Gorge there is an old 1960's model Ford f100 half buried in the bank of the river. My guess it was swept there by a flood years ago. On another river in KY, come to small island in middle of river. Someone has placed a couch, coffee table and big old TV. This isnt under a shelter, just out in the open on the island. Was hiking in Virginia, about 10 miles into a 20 mile overnighter. Come to what is obviously someones semi permanant camping spot (had a pretty nice rock stacked fire ring, some logs rolled close to fire ring for seating 10/10 comfy). Right nearby there is a big rockpile with a crudely made cross with the words "sean" written on it. Pile of rocks wasnt big enough for a human body. Figure it was ashes or maybe someones pup. Though who would want to hike 10 miles with a dead dog is beyond me.
>>
>>649711
i found some homeless guys notebook
very interesting read

another time i found a homeless guys makeshift shelter. l poked around in it and saw a book. I figured it would be the Bible but it was Plato's Republic...
>>
Not so much weird but a "how the fuck did that get here?" moment. I take my dogs out to the woods and let them run around as I walk down trails. I spoil the hell out of them. Anyways, eventually the trail eventually borders a creek that is about 4ft deep. At the strangest spot, there is a whole truck frame. In my experience, it gets so thick walking that it becomes hard to walk through.
>>
>>649711
Wow, why don't you just go open some coffins while youre at it?
That was some kids pet, probably the first one they lost and you just went along and desecrated the closure they tried to have

>tfw forget to mention things you find
I found a completely gutted '90s civic in a field when I was hunting, wouldn't be that weird except for the /completely/ gutted (as in wheels, axels, engine, everything of value) and it was upside down
Was kind of weird to be honest, maybe youd just have to see it idk
Another time I found a spot where I guess people would dump their old cars around the 1950's and there were 10 or so, some rolled on their side or upside down that I assume got pushed by tress that grew there
And there were dead birds /everywhere/
I have never seen that many dead birds
so it was like a graveyard for cars and birds
Cant remember any of the cool things ive found though
>>
>>650063
once when I was kayaking a river, way in the backwoods (at least 100 miles from any road) i found a black trash bag all duct taped up on the bottom, it was there for a number of years, and so i brought it up and when I beached to eat lunch i opened it up and there was a small cotton sock, 2 kids shoes, a few river rocks, large boxers, a hair pin, and a wallet that had seen it's fair bits of use. Also a toy car. I got pretty spooked and left it then headed along, saw a human (or looked human) pelvis along the riverbed with some other bones scattered here and there, then deep black hole.

Nah don't hide it man. I liked finding it. Not sure if it was purely the feels, or how it made me think, or if I appreciated something new. But I thought about that even for days, and obviously I still think about it from time to time now. Every experience absorbs into who you are, and you can become better for it if you reflect.

Here's something I found by the side of the road earlier: A Mora with a face. I pulled over to take a leak, and there it was just sitting there in the bike lane. Fucking weird. Maybe it's Odin's toothpick or something.
>>

I had a dog die on me on day 3 of 6 hike. I buried the dog out in the woods there.
>>
So my grandpa invited me to go camping with him in his caravan in loch lomond.
We reached a quiet spot that I had been to before as a kid. There was another car abandoned by the road but I didnt pay it much attention.

This spot is right by a really small loch and my grandpa and I sat on the beach, basking in the sun. Then all of a sudden we hear music coming from furhter up the beach, in a wooded area. I figure some other campers must have joined us.

An hour later this girl run towards the water and starts spewing like crazy, projectile vomiting like I've never seen before. She's screaming stuff like "ohh yes, finally! I'm fine guys, thank fuck its all coming out" and she spins around by the water for ages, occassionally spewing and acting out. Her friends come over and bring their speakers to the water and they smoked a few joints.

Who the fuck knows what they were doing there that day, I was trying to chill with my old grandad.
>>
We stumbled across a Christmas set up in the woods.
This had to be June or July.

Doesn't look creepy from the pic, but we had noticed it from so far away, and had to walk across a big open field to get there, and in crossing that field, not only did the sky get purple and stormy, but by buddy decided to pull this shit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w3wHcjh8pE&feature=youtu.be

On the trees were stockings filled with little people figures and assorted haunted shit.

I found an abandoned Serbian motar emplacement around the Karlovac area in 2003. It must have been there for years after we drove them out almost a decade before. It had two Russian motars and about a dozen boxes of live ammunition. It was all on top of these rocks and had been unmoved for years. There were also a few rusty AK's near a destroyed tent we found a few dozen meters away. You find weird stuff around the war torn areas in Croatia. This one was so weird because it was years after the war. I wish I had the pictures saved to my computer. During and after the war we found a lot of bodies around of civilians that had been executed. There are probably hundreds more but it's dangerous to go out there due to all of the mines. I will see if I can post the pictures to here later if anyone is actually interested.

I rent/live on a large forested property not too far from city limits and I find something new every time I go exploring.

So far:
>about a dozen defunct grow-ops
>a burnt out car fully surrounded by full grown trees
>a collapsed tent buried under decades worth of moss and litter
>a muskoka chair with a fantastic view
>a shrine surrounded with skulls and animal bones
>a bunch of fishing line strung up between trees like a spider web

I'm sure I will add to the list on the next clear day. This place is so fucking cool. Pic related: my getaway.

Its clearly a young girl who's pet died, I hope you put it back in the box, maybe with some green grass or something.

Story time
>be me
>back 5ish acres of property are wooded
>use it for hunting
>out hunting
>see family roll up
>about to go chase them off
>dad grabs a shovel from the bed of the truck
>starts digging
>curious, sit there watching them
>dig a fairly large hole
>back truck up to hole
>lower wooden box from truck into hole
>cover wooden box
>freaking out at this point, think someone just ditched a fucking body in my hunting area
>dad takes a wooden sign and a sledge
>puts it up over the grave
>they say a prayer and leave
>go over to sign
>"Rest in peace lucky 1999-2008"
>see same truck visiting the spot every so often
>come up with a plan
>spring comes
>plant perennial flowers all over the grave
>flowers come up
>family visits
>few days pass, come home from work
>a letter is tapped on the door
>"Thank you for taking care of lucky" along with a crayon picture of a dog underground and lots of flowers over it
>tape ripped the finish off the door

best damn feeling of my life.
>>
>>652636

To clarify, the "thanks for taking care of lucky" was in an adults hand writing, so I have always imagined the kids thought the flowers grew on their own and the parents figured it out.

A few years ago I was 4x4ing around in some remote Canadian Rockies. It was an area that saw very little use outside of seasonal hunting. I stopped for a piss near a decent viewpoint, and noticed what looked like a game trail below me. I decided to hike down and check it out, and ended up following it for a good 15 minutes on foot. Eventually, it opened up into a large clearing in the woods. This spot didn't look naturally occurring.

As it turns out, I stumbled upon a literal native burial ground. I could see effigies and totem-stick things hanging in the branches above, and several large sections of rectangular earth that had sunken in a few inches below. I also found a couple plaques with names and dates posted nearby. I counted 8 graves, all lined up nicely. The graves had moss growing on them and it looked like this area hadn't been used in a long time.

I ended up coming back to this spot many times after that and camping nearby, because the scenery was beautiful and it was so remote. There were creeks and waterfalls nearby and it was a good place to skinny-dip during the summer. I went there for a long time, and never saw evidence of other people. It was abandoned.

Then one day, around two years after I originally found the spot, I had stopped there to do some camping and fishing as usual. I noticed things were off. First - there was a giant stone pit constructed in the middle of the clearing. Big enough for a large bonfire. Someone had spent some serious time gathering stones and building it. Second - there was a dark spot at the far end of the line of graves. It was freshly disturbed earth. The soil was completely exposed and appeared to be a brand new grave.

I guess the spot wasn't actually abandoned. I figure it only sees use when needed. Someone had hosted a funeral there. Kinda creepy, I guess. But I still go there frequently. I clean it up and look after it, making sure no branches or litter is falling on the graves. It's my favourite /out/ spot.

I grew up several miles outside a small town. I used to take long walks in the middle of the night, listening to my headphones. One night i walked about a mile up our road to a corner that met with a "highway" to a much smaller town about 15 miles away. This corner had a street light, so i decided to lurk around the illuminated area. I found a few pages of shredded up porn, shoved very purposefully under a stone. Not completely strange, but not the first time i found porn innawoods.
>>
I used to run around the woods of my house as a kid for hours and hours, finding every interesting area and remembering routes.
A friend and I decided to go off in a direction we had never went before, ended up finding an abandoned swing set, like the type people install in their yards. Looked like they had carried it off into the woods when it got old. It was pretty creepy.
We kept going on and came across a large area with about 20 trees on the ground. I live in maple country so they were all super tall white maples with their roots up in giant mounds. It was kind of eerie and surreal, just these huge trees crisscrossing over eachother and all these big caves where their roots had been. We named it the tree graveyard and it became our favorite spot.
Once when I was there alone, after having been going there almost daily for a year, I walked around a root mound and came face to face with another kid. We both just turned and ran away like idiots. The weird thing is that there were no other kids living in my neighborhood, so I figured he must have been a camper or visiting, but then I wondered if he had been coming there the whole time and we never ran into eachother.
It weirded me out more than it should have, because I was creeped out that I'd run into him or someone else if I went there. So I kind of stopped going

I found a human shit in the middle of some property i look after for this elderly man. It's several hundred acres, surrounded by hills, so it's not easy to get to unless it's through his main access road. I knew it was human because next to it was a newspaper with half a crossword finished, and a couple burned out cigarettes.

Fridges and toilets... like, a mile or two into rough terrain away from any road. What the fuck?

I've at least had a little light shed on the fridge one. I knew an older lady who grew up when they were running electric line in the area. Her family lived in the boonies and the company wouldn't run line to their house. So they set up a row of shacks with refrigerators in them. For some reason that satisfied the power company's criteria enough that they ran line from shack to shack to shack to their house. I dunno man.

Suicides on public land, wilderness areas, and such are not uncommon. A friend of mine's husband went and killed himself when she came out as a lesbian. Drove out to some remote part of a WMA or something, taped a bag over his head and asphyxiated himself.

I have found what looked to be a hasty stash of pseudo-witchy stuff on a bike path once. There was a circle of salt in the middle of the path and off in the woods was a black mirror, a spiral notebook "book of shadows"... much of it was messed up from water damage but enough to tell it was some kid's notes on Wicca and such... and a deck of playing cards probably used as a tarot deck by someone "in the broom closet." It was right after one of the supermoon's so it's no surprise someone might have been doing a full moon ritual, got disturbed by someone coming down the path, and chucked the stuff in the woods and bolted. The thing that was really stupid was this was not a mountain bike path. No, no... it was a semi-urban path that some people will use for commuting. So it was kind of stupid to set their ritual up right there on the path.

When i was in high school, i used to roam around the old properties near my folks place. Everyone near me has 300+ acres, so it's easy to avoid being caught trespassing. I never took anything or broke any fence lines, just looked around, so nobody cared at all. One time i found a group of recently placed tents, each with clothes, sleeping bags, and booze. I knew the people the land belonged to, so i was positive it was unknown to them they had campers. When i found it, it was temporarily abandoned. I ended up smashing a few of their liquor bottles inside the tents, for reasons. I left, intending to check in on it the next day or so. When i came back, it was mostly broken down, but they had destroyed several tents and left them, and chopped down several live trees, and tried to burn them. Shortly after, i talked to the land owner, who said they had happened upon several of the people packing up and trying to leave the camp site. They were a bunch of high schoolers, claiming to have permission to have a several day party on their land. The people they told this to, were the land owners themselves. They are an older couple, so they only asked they clean up and don't return. Turns out i knew a few of campers, and they ended up kicking one of their friends asses for "messing with all the booze", that, unbeknownst to them, i had smashed.

I did once find what looked to be a part of, maybe a base to, an old wood stove out along the appalachian trail at least 5 miles from the nearest road.

It was all rusted up, had to weigh at least 100 pounds. How the fuck did someone get it out there lol

A few years back I was doing surveys on some property east of Yuma near the Gila River. Unfortunately no pics of this because I lost my phone in a bar not long afterward, but it was pretty cool.

>Finish work early one day, decide to climb small peak in middle of place to see the view
>Buddy gets to top a few minutes before me because I'm taking pictures
>Starts shouting and waving his arms
>I hurry up there, thinking he's found another rattlesnake (dude was scared of snakes)
>Smashed wreckage of an old F-4 Phantom scattered all over the mountaintop
>Spend next two hours taking pics and poking at old plane parts

Landowner told us later that back in the '60s there was a fuck-up on an Air Force training flight and two jets collided right over the place. One was damaged badly but managed to put in a crash-landing on the highway a few miles away. The other slammed right into the top of the mountain. Military had cleaned it up some afterward, but they left the bulk of the wreckage sitting up there. Hell of a view.

This remind me when I was on island Mljet, also in Croatia. And friends and I were staying in ex millitary house, now it is part of nacional park. One night we went for a walk in small wood and we found ex millitary bunker in cave. There was big hallway and every 50 meters were stairs to balcony-like opening with rails on the floor. On the last balcony were big missile trower on rails. We could move trower around and aim. There was no missle in it but it was so cool to see. This was old millitary bunker from JNA(yugoslavian nacional army) and it is really hidden in forest.

I stumbled upon a meth cook house. It was part of an old quarry that's long been abandoned. Another time I found what I took as a car dealership, or some hill billy's property. There was some real old cars there though some totally rusted to nothing but it was kind of creepy with no structure within a 5 mile radius of these cars.

I found well in the middle of the woods a few miles from my parents property. I wandered into some neighbors land (they don't care, everyone knows each other), and tripped over a large round slab, covered in moss. I pulled it back and found a 6 foot deep hole filled with water. I mentioned it to the land owners, even showing them the location. They had no idea it was there or who put it there. The weird part is, their family had lived on that land for nearly 100 years.

I didnt find it, but oh man this story. Heard this my first year as a staffer at scout camp

>Camp Geronimo Boyscout Camp, Payson Arizona
>High-desert Ponderosa Pine Forest, very dry but heavily wooded
>To the north of camp was the East Webber trail, webt about 2.5 miles to the edge of the mogollon rim cliff face
>Troop hikes the trail one afternoon
>they take a wrong turn to a forest service trail about half a mile past the trailhead
>Scoutmasyer eventually notices a black piece of tubing sticking out from the ground
>follows it off trail for a bit
>starts to smell some skunkweed, but a lot stronger
>eventually finds the tubing arranged in rows, watering some sort of-
>its not just skunkweed, its skunk-fucking-weed
>turns the fuck around and heads back to camp
Apparently, the growers had stolen some of our Staff t-shirts and walked straight through camp to get to their feilds. Needless to say the Sheriff came and arrested those guys. To this day staffers try to hike out and find stray pot plants.

As for stories about discovering weird shit in the woods, I have a few. Near my house are woods that I have explored for a long time, and I have found all sorts of weird shit down there, but very little that I have pictures of, except this one.
>Junior year of high school, Friend and I usually go into the woods because we like being outside
>Walking on a trail through the woods
>As we are walking I notice something out of place on the ground
>I bend down to examine what appears to be white hair
>At this point I'm thinking some animal is shedding (It was early to mid spring at that time) and think nothing about it
>But there is a lot of hair
>Friend and I follow the, now apparent, trail of hair
>The hair is in clumps spread a few feet apart, and eventually leads off trail
>We continue to follow the hair, until it disappears behind some bushes
>Friend and I look behind the bushes to find a deer that has been fucking destroyed
>This comes as a surprise because the woods are pretty heavily traveled, and the deer are few around here
>The entire side looks as if it has been ripped off by animals of some sort (most likely wild dogs, we have a big problem with them around here)
>The ribs are exposed like the ribs of the gaping dragon from Dark souls
>At this point friend and I are wondering how this happened, and if anyone else has seen it yet (we also wondered if it was killed by a person, but disregarded it because of the way the corpse looked)
>I have camera and snap a pick, as my friend proceeds to pick up a stick and hit the ribs
>After a while, get bored playing the rare xylophone deer and leave
I still wonder about how that deer died. I know this is pretty mediocre by /out/, so I'll try and see if I have any other pics of weird shit I've found.

I live in a small town and there is one confirmed pedophile in the area. Dudes just off his rocker it seems. He's a hermit and adorns his property with religious and nativity scenes.

One day I decided to follow deer paths in the new snow. I started a good ways away from the area and I guess I just lost track of time and distance, probably because I knew I could find my way back with my own tracks. Over time, I started noticing small objects and things. Like normal trail trash like cans and litter. I was picking up most of it until things got weird. Strange little religious scenes nailed to the trees and shit like benches. Then foot prints. It became one of those situations where you're so weirded out that you forget turning around and leaving is an option. So I kept walking.

Eventually I found something that looked like a child's fort. It was snowing heavily now and about 50 yards from it I stopped and actually thought it all through and realized where I was. Once it all came clearly I sorta checked the area out, figuring he wouldn't be around. The fort was clearly built by a child, or at least with one in mind. Pallets and 2x4s made the roof and there was a ceramic sink on one of the trees the fort was built around. The roof was low enough to accommodate a child. Soda cans and garbage were stacked in a small cart. The whole place had a terrible feel to it. I wanted to vomit the entire time I was there. Only when I saw extremely fresh prints nearby did I back the fuck out. The snow was coming hard and judging by how crisp the prints seemed I was certain he'd been there within the last few hours.

Wolves or mange man. More likely wolves though. Common as hell up here in Minnesota and on trails too. Deer sometimes find the paths when trying to escape their hunters and end up dead in the middle of the path. My guess would be that the deer was killed and someone or something else came by and spooked the animals feeding on it, leaving a half devoured carcass.

Sailing from Nagoya to San Fran in a 27 foot sail boat we came across a full size lifeboat in excellent condition about 500km north of Hawaii, there was no name or reg number on it (which is very strange) and the cover was still on it with all equipment inside, we took it under tow after calling the coast guard at Hawaii and claimed it as salvage, we sold it in San Fran for a tidy sum and thanked our good fortune.

I'm an Indiana native and I explore the Ohio River beach all the time. I walk or kayak and I am typically out for a week or two at a time. I usually fish or hunt small game. You find some weird and cool stuff out here. I usually find arrowheads and geodes and things. As well as some industrial junk/scrap. I keep any copper or lead I find for projects in my workshop. Weirdest thing I have ever found was a possible campsite/hobo camp. It was a silver tarp over a small dried creekbed by a cliff. The tarp was weighed down with rocks and had a recent campfire remains. I wrote a message on a rock with some charcoal and told him/her/it were I was going. I never met this person/skinwalker/caveman, close by the camp I found a 55 gallon plastic barrel filled with human waste. I've stumbled on a pot farm and promptly gtfo out of there. The spookiest thing I have ever found was a huge area with doll heads stuck on sticks in a semi-circle around a large concrete slab that was above the dollheads on a cliff. I assumed it was some teenagers fucking with people. I went up the cliff and there was a fucking dead fawn on that slab. I've never paddled out of an area as fast as that. Idk wth it was but I think it was some sort of satanic ritual. I'm not exactly sure where it was but it was about 20-30 miles from Bedford, Kentucky. I wish I would've had my camera with me so I could show you. I will make a MSPaint drawing of it if you guys want. Another time, I had a random ass pair of beagles run into me in the middle of nowhere, they stayed with me for about 3 days and then I woke up and they were gone. The most valuable thing I have found is a Silver Mexican Peso like pic(Not mine) and a 14k gold ring that I sold for about $100 dollars, I would've kept it but spookily enough it wouldn't even fit my pinkie, it was like a childs/babies ring(I have thin fingers but big hands). I have some other stories I might post about later if you guys are interested.

Interested in the numbers, anon. Let's see 'em.

Haven't found anything really weird on my /out/ings, coolest thing I found was probably a room at the back of a 5-hour deep cave, the walls/floor were made completely off clay and there was a natural stone pedestal in the middle. Other people who had been there before had sculpted things into the surfaces of the clay; a massive dragon took up about 30 feet of wall space end to end, with a height of around 4-5 feet. I really wish I had pictures, but I didn't have a camera with me. I'd love to go there again but the cave is closed to protect some bats, and I'm not gonna fuck their shit up.

My parents live near a landfill/dump turned state park that I hung out in as a kid and in my teens. There's a nice beach with boardwalk, some Marsh area and some woods. My friends and I used to build forts out in the woods there. Found abandoned cars, baby doll heads, porn mags, homeless camps, all kinds of shit.

I remember being about 12 with my younger brother of 2 years out in the woods at like 7am cus we both got up early to meet with some friends. We were just throwing some sticks and stuff around when I see a guy coming our way.
>ohshitnigger.jpeg
He comes up, looks around and tells us we can't be there so early cus the park is closed and "bad things" will happen. We bounce but he wasn't wearing any ranger clothes ( we had seen rangers before closer to the beach) and just started walking farther into the woods.

Scared the shit out of me for years. Never found out what happened with that guy, and we were like 2 miles out.

I remember as a kid, back in maybe 1992, there was a news story about someone stealing a large Ronald McDonald from in front of a McDonald's resturant, prob an hour away from where we lived.

My brother, dad, and I were out on our farm, my dad was digging up some dirt with the backhoe while my brother and I played by a creek.

Brother and I came across some dirt that had been freshly dug. Him and I kicked some dirt off the pile, and there was a big red fiberglass shoe attached to a long metal pole. The unmistakable shoe of Ronald McDoland.

Dug a little more and found the statue cut up my a chainsaw in burlap sacks.

Dad told us never to tell anyone about it. This is the first time I've ever said anything. He didn't do it, but was worried since it was left on our property he could be held liable.

Tl/dr: found a shallow grave with Ronald McDonald in it.

Sounds like an old hand-dug well. I was fighting a prarie grass fire, when our grass truck's wheel broke through the rotten wooden cover on an old pioneer hand-dug well. The property owners didn't even know that there had ever been a house there.

I found hand drawn furry porn in a tupperware container with some colored pencils and stuff years ago. It was under a log beside a little campsite near a lake. There was a pretty popular campsite nearby but you had to walk a decent ways to that spot so it didn't get much use.

It wasn't terrible, a generic naked fox lady in pinup poses and one Renamon, decent but nothing special art wise. I jerked off to them that night and then fed them to the fire, and in the morning scribbled some incredibly crude imitations on the couple blank sheets that were with it and put it back.
That was a pretty good trip

I've never really found anything myself, but I like to purchase small animal bones and skulls online and take some with me on a hike.

I bring them along on populated hiking trails and go off the trail at certain points, where i'll then set up little pagan-looking ritual circles.

Draw a big pentagram, scatter some bones inside it, place animal skulls in places that look like they would be important like facing the four corners of the compass or something like that.

I started doing this after I found an entire deer skeleton on one of my hikes; after staring at it for a little while I just got the sudden inspiration to take out some string and suspend its skull and a bunch of its bones all around the branches of a tree

Alright, so im out hunting with my dad in TN. He says we need to bond more because I spend so much time working and I wasn't able to come to the family christmas.
I agree with him and he sets a time, Jumpcut to us going to the spot. We both jump in his truck, and travel up a Mountain, but the problem during this drive was that we didn't have any heating systems, and it was fucking cold. Eventually we both arrive at the spot and settle down. Normal shitty dad hunting trip. Until we both hear very loud howls and gunshots. Nothing out of the particular. Just another poor soul stuck with his dad maybe. The shots eventually go away, and after a few hours we decide to pack up and head home. We begin to head back the same trail, accept my dad gets this right idea to cross some shady ass river to "shortcut" our way to the truck. (big mistake ofc.) So we're crawling across rocks and edgy cut down trees. Accept, we begin to see shells across the ground, nothing unusual though until we find a DIY tent area, that looks like its been recently used but is in horrible shape. We take a peek inside and we see a FUCKING DEAD WOLF across the floor, and its guts hanging out like it has just been mauled to death, along with shot wounds all in the legs and side, Lookin like it had been eaten. Animal bones were also scattered around (Don't remeber any skulls, I think they were just ribcages and shit) thisissomegrimshit.jpg
We get out of there immedantly, picking up our pace. We both had adrenaline pumping, as my dad had a "what the acual fuck was that" look on his face. We begin to run to the truck. Everything seems fine until we get back to the truck, and the left side window had been smashed in. We both jumped in immanently, and were beginning to get to the point to call the cops. Until we find that both of our phones are gone.
fuckthis.jpg
We immedantly start the truck, and haul ass out of there. Haven't found our old phones since and we got new ones
We could've lost our life out there

Also about five years ago I was taking my dog for an early morning walk on Dartmoor and we come across seven dead sheep spread out to form a large crude circle. Each one clearly had its neck broken and was missing an eye.

Didn't happen to me, happened to another local school though, ended Earth Day.

>Earth Day
>Elementary school kids all leave class for an hour and go pick up trash outside
>Kids go behind the school into some bushes to pick up shit
>They find a dead body

Was some homeless guy who went back there and froze to death during the winter. Most I've found on Earth Day was a dead cat in a bag, and an insulin needle.

Man, Earth Day was fun.

All kinds of the usual homeless shelters, porn stashes etc.

One of the creepiest was hiking in a remote place in the Tumbler Ridge area of BC along a river (tributary of the Murray). Look up and am startled to see a person atop the opposite cutbank standing dead still staring at us. Grab the binocs. Turns out to be some kind of scarecrow somebody put up there wearing a red wool mackinaw jacket, jeans, deer stalker cap...real lumberjack looking getup.

As far as I know the only trails and access were on our side of the river. The river is high and fast year-round and would be very hard to cross so never found out how or why the scarecrow was put there. The jacket was bright and looked newish from what I could tell.

Also near Tumbler Ridge, found some old cans and jar lids that looked like they were from the 1800s at a remote point on the lake we stopped to stretch with our canoes. Possibly left by trappers or traders. Didn't have my camera with and I don't bother collecting rusty old shit.

I found the pot farm used in this movie:
http://www.themoneytreemovie.com/trailer/
This was an actual grow site on public land. I used to know one of the partners that worked the site, and it was some pretty good weed at the time. I met him outside the theater after the premier showing, and told him I knew exactly where it was, from one shot in the movie, a long shot that showed a particular geographic feature I know well. It might look like some random out-of-focus landscape to anyone else. He didn't believe me, so later I walked there, told him exactly where it was, and he got all bug-eyed...
> no shit!
It's an area that has no trails or dirt roads within a mile or so. Very rugged, choked with undergrowth that you sometimes have to tunnel through with tools to get anywhere. I told him it would probably be a good idea never to use that site again, and let it all rot into the countryside, because if there were any cops or rangers that knew the area as well as I did, he and his partner (pic related) would probably get busted. It looks like they're re-releasing the movie, so I'll watch it and see if they removed the shot I told him about. I don't know about the statute of limitations on that kind of violation. This was about 23 years ago. When you watch the movie it is all real pot plants and cured product grown at that site, no fake props like in that "Weeds" TV series.

I know the area where I grew up like the back of my hand, and used to spend a lot of time bush-crashing around the place, off the major trails. There are a lot of game trails, old abandoned ones, and other interesting places. I've found other abandoned grow sites and a lot of homeless encampments. I never met anyone else at these places. I moved away from there more than 20 years ago to a less popular and less expensive area of the USA, fewer people and beautiful country to hike, bike and ski around. I grew up at some point and quit smoking weed. It fucks with my system in my old age.

They left the shot in the movie. Of course they had to. It's in the trailer at 3:45. In the background is the ridgeline, across a canyon, that gave it away for me.

My friend used to work for a landscaping company. He was hired to do some work in a secret gated community in northern Wisconsin. It's like a gigantic forest that is gated off for a few rich people. He kept the key the gate, and we snuck in with mountain bikes and explored for the forest.

We found a TINY chapel in the middle of NOWHERE. No trails, nothing. There were candles blown out so it had recently been used. The chairs were so small it looked like a church for midgets. There was a small wooden box in the middle of the chapel that we opened up. It was filled with weird prayer requests, and old vintage photos from the 1970s. Obviously we kept some as soveniers.

Story continued
>>
>>665530
The next day we came back again with our mountain bikes. We biked through the forests using lightly beaten trails or just no trails. We eventually came to a mansion that had been struck by lightening and then burned to the ground. It looked like they had left a lot of things behind. Beds were just covered in ash, and some of the doors were still standing oddly enough. I found some weird decorative bells that I kept. I still hang them in my room.

We get on our bikes and get on the main road to get back to the entrance. We saw a car coming towards us from far away, so we had to run into the forest and walk like half a mile carrying our bikes back to the entrance.

(Story still continued)

Another time, my same friend and I were hanging out at about 2 a.m. In the morning. we started talking about these untouched swamp lands that were infamous for a bunch of terrible things. Gangs burying dead bodies in the 1950's ect. ect. These were swamp lands that people hardly ever used. They weren't pretty and they weren't fun, with barely any trails going in and out.

We decided we wanted to go exploring these desolate swamp wilderness lands, so we drove for 30 minutes out to the swamp lands. We pulled up to the trail and just stared at the entrance with my headlights shining on them. We just sat there working up the courage to walk in for about 10 minutes. We finally got out is the car and walked in. We do a lot of night hiking, but this was different. I was instantly terrified after about 20 feet of walking on this trail, and my friend was definitely concerned as well. We kept walking down this path that looked like a tunnel with tall trees curving over the top of the path. Suddenly, we began hearing bottles clanking together. Like glass bottles. we slowed down and my friend just said "must be...uh.. I don't know". Then we stopped. In the distance, we saw a transparent figure slowly moving towards us. We both just stood there saying nothing, staring at this thing and trying to rationalize what we were looking at. While we stood there, it just kept coming straight at us. When it got closer, it looked like a glowing transparent six legged dog. Without saying a word to eachother, we both turned around and sprinted back to my car at full speed. When we got into my car, my friend was yelling "FUCKING GO. FUCKING GO. LETS FUCKING GO" as I put my car reverse and didn't even bother to turn around. I just drove backwards at about 30 m.p.h. until we reached a back road.

If I bring it up to my friend, he just kinda chuckles and says "yeah man... I don't know" and won't say much about it. I've returned, but never seen anything again.

I have never even heard of that. This happened when I was 19 at the mud lake wetlands in the door peninsula.

The first two aren't even that uncommon. Houses burn down. If you guys don't believe them then you're probably just sheltered. Im sure it's hard getting away from the suburbs twice per year for an /out/ trip, but none of this is far fetched, besides the third one. That one is pretty weird, but I'm sure there's an explanation for it. Or just transparent ghost dogs. One of the two.

I had one strange experience while /out/
> had my most /out/ job
> was working for the roads authority in my country. Great job , had my dog with me , patrolling 100km of mountain , forest and secondary roads near a path they had acquired to build a motorway
> they gave me a 4x4 and told me patrol this area as many times as I could in my shift
> near old silvermine
>see rear end of car sticking out from ditch
> Ohfuck.jpeg
>thinking someone crashed during the night
>get out with my German shepherd
>approach car
>bullet holes in car , rear quarter panel , drivers side door and tight grouping in windshield
>dark stain on driver seat but no holes
>touch nothing
>call supervisor
>he comes out
>he calls boss
>stillhaventcalledthepolice.png
>boss tells us to tell no one
>wut
> next day car was gone

Still wonder , what was the story with that car , why was the boss not surprised ? Will never know. A month later we were all moved to a county over and our pay was cut by a third , we all wound up leaving the job.
>>
>>655740
That was target practice, I guarantee it.
>>
>>666721
I have a theory on what happened.

Did said road authority practice rescuing people from crashed cars?
>>
>>652600
>typical white people
>>
>>666758
No. Construction and security , and if there was a rescue practice they always did it near cities. Usually college campuses and had a big audience. Also car was pristine except for the bullet holes and stains , was a reserve army medic. Whenever we (or civil defence or fire service) ran exercises like that we used cars that were donated from a scrap yard and we gave then back afterwards so the srap yards could still make their money.
This location was remote as Fuck , I had patrolled the day before and it wasn't there . Same motorway when construction began there was compulsory purchase orders on a lot of land , led to some tense situations , including one family that had two houses due for demo. There was a stand off with these guys , they had guns we didn't , had to call in a special police unit for them , none of it was ever in the papers or news.
It was ok tho none of the locals ever got bad with us just with the construction guys and police , meanwhile up north guys working on a gas pipeline had to wear balaclavas and be guarded by the army because local were getting really shitty

I live in the Southeast, in what was once tobacco and hog country. As the economy changed, many of these farms were straight up abandoned.

Occasionally, you'll be walking out in dense woods and stumble upon an old farmhouse or a tobacco dryhouse. These folks left behind a lot of shit. Mostly garbage.

Glass, ceramics, ancient rusted metal strewn about all over the place. I built up a collection of blue glass noxzema jars from these sites.

My best find so far was an entire two story schoolhouse. It was quite degraded, if it hadn't of been for the old chalkboard and rows of decaying wood chairs, I would have guessed it to be a church.

Best thing I've found at these sites are rare plants, varieties of flowers that had been popular back in the day.

Weirdest thing I've ever found was a brown paper bag containing

>an empty malt liquor bottle,
>a pair of womens underwear,
>and a ziploc bag full of used tampons.

Why the fuck would anyone carry their used tampons around with them? Seriously.
>>
>>666807
>Why the f**k would anyone carry their used tampons around with them? Seriously

Some pervert that broke into a woman's house, stole her panties, and dug through her bathroom trash for used tampoons. I used to be an investigator in a prior occupation, and took a course in understanding and interviewing sex offenders. It's absolutely disgusting what goes through peoples' heads. /b/ is proof of that. Actually an investigation back in 2004 was how I learned about 4chan. /out/ is one of the rare boards on here that has any value.

It wasn't proper innawoods but I found a tractor on a path with the wipers going. I was out for an hour or two and when I walked by it again it was just sitting there, wipers screeching.
There were farms nearby, so it's not unexpected, but coupled woth the sound and the foggy weather, it was a little spoop
