Where can I learn what wild plants and mushrooms are edible ?

There's nothing better than fresh, ripe and free, except maybe not having to carry it. Just grab whatever you know is good as you walk along the trails.
Crown berries, compound berries, grasses and mustards are all always safe to eat.
Critter&cat-tail soup with mushrooms is common faire, because ingredients are always available. Take a cleaned and skinned furred animal (usually squirrel), boil for 30 or so minutes with a few cat-tail lower stalks (the white part) and as much mushroom as you can fit in the pot, cuz why not.
If you're using puffballs, cut it in half and make sure it's a consistent color and texture. If there's a mushroom shape on the inside, its a poisonous amanita, not a puffball.
Other good mushrooms to learn are morel, chantrelle, maitake, chicken and lions mane. They're easy to identify and don't have poisonous lookalikes.

I was about to make a thread about this, but I'm in straya so I need some books (pdfs) for down here. Does anyone have something they would recommend?
Found an large area with plenty of these growing. Are they edible? Or they have any side efects like psychodelics or nausea/vomit?
