i got my ass fired in February but uh
i delivered in a 5th gen maxima for dominos
5.03 on the road, $8.05 in store, a good night was $120 in tips
a shitty night where it was like endless niggers and fat white women was still $60
they were forcing us on the regular to do 10~12 hour shifts as punishment for petty shit like taking too long on a delivery or being snarky with the boss
Pic related, one of the downsides to the job, never park in the street at night when you're running to someone's door. Always go up their driveway or into the grass.
this nigger flatout hit and ran
people wanna bitch
>m-muh mileage
>i dont wanna run up miles
eh i drove 40,000 in a year and only the radiator broke
change your fuckin oil and stop fearing numbers
OP here.
>'99 Nissan micra k11
>domino's pizza UK
>£5.80 + £1.20/delivery + £10ish
Wondering how likely I am to find other UK drivers here too

you can't just tell us you got fired without telling us why...inb4 failed drug test
>>14744428
i was editing down existing cash orders and pocketing the cash
took them five months to catch me and they were only aware of around 1/7 of the total amount
I was hired to work fri/sat/sun & 20 hour weeks
numerous occasions i was forced to work 60 hour weeks, many times were open to close
if your workplace is going to exploit you then you should exploit your workplace
>>14744446
totally agree with you. goose gander etc
>>14744411
I've had a woman in a Porsche cayenne reverse into my car and I had to insist she didn't report my car as damaged on insurance because I knew they'd just call it a total loss instead of replacing a bumper and tail light
>>14744446
I wouldn't do that though a lot of companies would try and get the police involved
Wow such time, OP.
I just got hired at a Local chain
>Chevrolet S-10
>Pizza Pirates
>No idea I start on Saturday
>I have none
Honestly I'm nervous as shit for my truck, its getting low on oil, I need to do the brakes eventually. And Just today it was making a grinding noise on the left side when I was on the freeway.
I feel like this job is gonna finish off my truck, I wanted this job so I could save up faster for a Datsun 280Z
What should I expect bros? Any tips?

Worked at a Round Table for ~7 months before changing jobs.
Wasn't a driver but I worked closely with them. Most of them were decent guys, it was the most lucrative position since tips, but god damn there was this one bitch.
>we closed at 10 on weekends
>9:30pm rolls around
>delivery order comes in, always a bummer since it puts the closing schedule back a bit
>she's in a bad mood tonight, and is the only driver there
>flat out refuses to deliver it
>supervisor is this girl around 20, she's just trying to keep the night running smoothly
>tries to get her to deliver it since the house is literally a quarter mile away.
>still refuses, ends up leaving early.
>supervisor tries to write her up, she just refuses to sign the citation and gets off scott free
>supervisor has to explain that shit to the customers.
So glad I refused that position kek.
>>14744591
Keep your change in the car so that when you have to walk back to get it they'll just tell you to keep it as a tip but make sure that change isn't visible or on show for obvious reasons
>>14744642
For sure, I have my change in a cup holder on my door, its out of sight. I don't want some goddamn bum breaking my window for some pennys and nickles
>>14744658
Yeah my friend who gave me that tip had his window smashed two days ago because his iPhone 6s was on the dash during a delivery
>2016
>not delivering to Eurobeat exclusively
My little terror of the streets. Top driver at my store.
>>14744790
ALL OF THE DAY BRO
>>14744809
Shingo is here so where's that guy from Arizona or something with the geo metro
>>14744874
I haven't seen him post in a while.
How do the signs on top work? Are they bolted in?
>>14744622
>she just refuses to sign the citation
>gets off scott free
>>14744956
They're magnetic and I run a cable from my cig lighter port out of my rear hatch to the roof. It's annoying, unsightly and probably reduces my fuel economy
>Starting working for Pizza Hut in January
>Ford Focus SE Hatchback
>Live in a smaller town so I don't make much compared to larger city drivers
>$40-$50 on week days
>$80-$100 on weekends
>$8.05 at the store, $5.05 on the road, $1.15 a delivery
>Usually see about 15-20 deliveries on weekends
>Work with a lot of cool people
>Never really have any issues with anyone
>Managers don't care what driver's do as long as we're not just standing around and we keep our turn around times below a minute
>tfw free large stuffed crust to any driver that gets an average of below ten second turn around time
I'm thinking of applying for a delivery driver job. The only thing I'm worried about is engine starts. How many times do you guys start your car on an average workday?
got a lil bit of a story for you.
>20 y old college fag living in Germany
>September 2015, start working for car rental company
>the job itself is great, basically driving cool new cars across the country and to customers, not having to give a shit abt gas mileage or wear on cars
>but coworkers are two old, bitter, unfriendly men who dont like college kids for whatever reason. Also work starts at 7am and we have to clean the cars at -5° (20 freedom degrees) outside
>boss is the fattest person I had ever seen, needs a feet-long seatbelt extension because normal seatbelt is too short. Also a very very moody guy, exploits us where he can
>aka we need to get him food, clean his car, pick up trash from his home and drive it to the dumpsite and have to work insanely long shifts (longest I had to do was 14h, from 7am to 9pm). Also we dont have any breaks.
>yet I enjoy driving the cars so much that work days pretty much become the highlight of my week and I work my ass off
>boss needs more drivers bc tons of work to do and the three of us cant pull 14hours every day so he asks me if I have friends who would like to join the team
>I get 2 of my buddies in, boss is thankful
>ff to November '15
>my dad (65) has to undergo heart surgery, doesn't make it. Dies after 13 years of battling several chronical diseases
>I take 1 1/2 weeks break then continue working but feel like shit for months after
>ff to some day in Feb 2016
>everything is p much business as usual, boss calls me in for 11am
>'sit down anon (...) you're fired. you've been making a lot of mistakes lately and the company can't make allowances for your family situation anymore. sorry.'
>break out in tears on the way home, remember how proudly my dad told a coworker about my job
>nope, no happy end
this fat fucking fuck fired me after exploiting the shit out of me, after I brought two new people into the company, without even giving me a 2nd chance or telling me I should be more concentrated.
>>14745065
careful dagumi you don't want to lose your license now
>>14745239
Pics related, two of the cars I got to drive. New GTi (240 hp I believe) and this gen Audi A8 3.0 TDI
>>14744446
what the fuck, that's fraud. How the hell aren't you in jail?
>>14744591
why not just add oil then? running on low oil is never ever a good idea.
>>14745178
If I do 20 deliveries theoretically I should have started my car 40 times in a shift but in reality it's more like 25 since I'll leave my car running if it's a low chance of basically getting dindu'd. If I park on a hill I'll just turn it off and bump start (dump the clutch in second with ignition on while rolling starts the car) on my way down the hill because I kinda find it more fun if I'm honest
>>14745178
drive around all day in a beat ass 90's mazda truck, shut off and start it atleast 13 times a day for years. that thing just won't stop working, never had any starter problems, wouldn't worry to much.
>>14744380
>tfw 28 and can't even find a job as delivery driver
>fuck Canada
>fuck alberta
>fuck everything
I did it for Grecco in highschool and it was fucking great money, now with the oil shit closed can't find anything
>>14745249
>implying cops aren't our largest clientele
>>14745065
Also got a story
>Be making delivery to this apartment complex
>Very oriental name on the ticket
>Probably going to get jewed out of a tip but oh well
>Get to the apartment and knock
>Girl opens the door
>Chinese girl standing at about 5'5"
>Wearing nothing but a "Back to back world war champs" t-shirt and underwear
>Try my damnedest not to say anything
>$15 tip on a $15 order
>Debate weather or not I should rub one out in the car on the way back to the store
> tfw first tip of today's shift is fifteen bucks
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY
>>14745306
My city is pretty safe, so I should be able to leave my car on most of the time.
What are your hours like? I'd like to work nights, 25-30 hrs a week.
>>14745275
huehueheueueheu
>>14745275
if they dont have cameras catching you doing it then the only way they can stick anything to you is if you admit it
>Not delivering pizzas in a glorious V8
>>14745280
I was gonna add some today. but my hood release is fucked and rarely works. I have to pull the wire with pliers
>>14745239
That's shitty man. Sorry to hear about your dad.
>>14746343
>deliver to guys with Camaros
>they always tip me $10
Was a good time delivering in my V8 Firebird.
Took a management job in the store though to stop putting miles on it
Question to delivery people.
When I check out at Jimmy John's online, I put $0 as a tip, but when you actually arrive, I slip in $2 and hint you don't have to declare it in your taxes.
Do you keep it or do you declare it?
>>14746490
Keep it and then feel bad about rubbing the bread from your sandwich on my nuts.
>>14746496
>rubbing the bread from your sandwich on my nuts.
Too bad I always order extra mayo :^)
>>14746507
You must really like the taste of cum in that case
>>14746515
Protein is protein
#gains
Do you have to report the tips on your taxes or someshit?
Who /EdibleArrangements/ here? Shit's easy but goddamn the beancounters can not read a fucking map or understand you can only go so fast in rush hour traffic.
Also, it's funny. I actually like delivering to the ghetto more than to rich people. I don't get tipped either way, but black people in the ghetto actually look really excited to be receiving a fruit arrangement or even just a box of chocolate covered strawberries. Seeing that kind of appreciation makes the job worth doing. You hand it to some rich white guy and they just say "Oh, thanks" in a bored tone, and that's if you actually get to deliver to them instead of to their secretary or a mailroom.
Also, fuck balloons.
>>14744957
Some people there had odd habits of doing fucking stupid shit and getting away with it. An actual manager walked out on the morning shift once, also got off scott free. She basically left 2 people to run the entire store for like 3 hours until the midday shift arrived.
Another manager served an underage employee (who was her friend) beer after we closed. So glad I'm out.
>>14744380
Can I join?
>>14747411
please do, got any stories?
just started for a local company, they give you their own trucks to drive which are standard and it took me a couple days to get the hang of but it's fun now
my best night so far has been $40, i get waiter wage and have to claim tips, last week i claimed $14 for the whole week so that was nice
i dont know how some of you guys are busting out over $100 a night. i usually get $2-3 per house so i would need like a few $10+ houses for that
