This so fucking much. The so called "snap oversteer" is not a design flaw. It's actually other way around, it's a result of a good design and proper weight distribution. Not to mention it's not only MR domain. Cars with engines on the front but pushed back closer to a driver can bite too. Best example is honda s2k.
Hell, you can even snap oversteer in a miata though admittedly it's not exactly a "snap" because that little shit will warn you way before it actually happens.
They are control freaks who are more about selling merchandise than cars. They'll probably never allow the LaFerrari to go up against the other hypercars until someone allows a test with ridiculous criteria that allows Ferrari to win.

The F40 was stripped down SPECIFICALLY for weight reduction. It wasn't like any of Ferrari's other cars that had full interiors. It was a racecar first and foremost.
When you consider the quantity built, and the level of work that went into a full carbon tub back then, $400,000 doesn't seem like all that much considering just how bleeding edge all that stuff was for something like a production Ferrari car.

People drove 308s/328s/Mondials for 100k+ because they were worthless, they are definitely a lot of work to keep going, all of them are engine out every 3-5 years and have a lot of problems. It's not the mileage, it's the time, it's risky to push the limits of the timing belt because they are interference. The most reliable overall imo are 360s (non F1) and 550s. Manual 430s are good since they went to chain but not too many of those around.
