Has anyone here actually started racing/rallying after playing relevant vidya games?

Did your vidya experience prove any useful?
>>
only true simulators with relatively expensive input setups will help to an extent
you really need to get out in the car if you want to get good

No, I meant in a way that playing vidya racers actually inspire you to go racing or rallying irl.

>be me
>be vg fanboy
>be want to get car
>i just wanna race cars for life
>no rich family
>never touched a karting car
>live in shithole southamerica
>there only civilian-class official race competition are the 1/4 mile races

i hate this shit hole. I wish i could get into rally somehow

Almost the same but i live in EU, lots of rallying here and i am building a car right now.

yeah, at least in the EU rally is easy to come by, and in the UK JDM are more common and there are some drifting scenes.

Seriously tho, i would love to get into rallying or some sort of circuit racing if i could, but you either pay a shit ton ahead or you started with karting when you were 15

I dont care if someone has more experience i just want too try it and see if i have any talent, if yes then i can push myself and git gud.

Played RBR for a decade after starting with rally sport challenge. RBR helps you understand the timing of gas / brake / turn and how you can upset a car. Really though without feeling the g forces and actually sliding in a car it's no simulator. I found if helped me with left foot braking in rallycross but I'm about to buy a stage car and I think it'll be a whole different animal. Speed feels a lot different when you can fly off the road into a tree.

I'm really good at driving in snow irl after playing gt5 for about 4 years
>>
Gt Academy you stupid OP
>>
My dad has been rallying for 30y+

I just picked it up and carried on when he slowed down. We have both played practically every franchise for my entire life.

I live in the sport. I compete, I marshall, I prep cars, everything. Both sides of the family have done for generations.
