Well the Buell is esentially a sport bike chassis with a big air cooled V-twin engine. It's offered with a bikini fairing and clipons or no fairing and big, wide handlebars.
Reviews say it handles like (or better than) any traditional supersport, which is exactly what I'm looking for. I think the naked package would be exactly the bike I'm looking for if it weren't so on power compared to all the competition. It's probably the better option for me since I don't really need to go 120+ MPH. I'm afraid of speeding tickets anyway.

Most of the roads I ride on are barely wider than 2 cars so the size of motorcycles alone allows them more buffer zone, so they can go faster more safely just because of that.
And I strongly disbelieve that most cars can go faster than most motorcycles. 99% of the cars on the road are shitboxes that can't accelerate or corner worth shit. Even when I feel like I'm pushing the limits of my car through a corner, I can cruise through the same corner on my dual sport (not even a street bike) even faster with some safety margin. Add that to the fact that bikes can accelerate faster after slowing for a corner and it gives bikes a significant advantage to bikes.

fz07/mt07 is honestly one of the least comfortable bikes i have ridden and i used to have a z500, the ergonomics are similar to a dirt bike and its like they designed the seat to encourage you to keep an upright body position through corners.
they don't handle well in tight sections either, my bike is a good 20kg heavier but feels a good 20kg lighter when you are changing directions which says a lot about how much Yamamha cares when it comes to weight distribution.
Can't say much about the duke or the sv have only ridden either a couple of times
