Okay, so we decided on a date last time around. Midday would be best for time, considering the time of year.

We just now currently have two places up to choose. Gloucester 127 or Mohawk Trail. Pretty must east or western Mass. Poll below!

http://www.strawpoll.me/10471550
http://www.strawpoll.me/10471550
http://www.strawpoll.me/10471550

All are welcome. Bring your sports cars, your muscle cars, your ecoboxs, your shitboxes, your bike. If it street legal and has wheels, bring it.

What even happens at meets?
The whole basis of 4chan in general is calling each names and making contrived insults
But no person would stand for that in real life, at least with people they just met....

So what actually happens when you put a bunch of 4chan users together in real life?
>>
>>15254721
from what i have heard of many many other meets

I would go to the meet but I don't really know shit about cars, I just like to drive. I come here to learn stuff but it's a slow process. Electronics is what I do, not automotive.

Anyway if you see someone driving a beat up white Subaru with CT plates and a custom built spectrum analyzer on the dashboard (pic related) in New Haven or Litchfield county CT, or periodically in Eastern NY around NY22/Taconic Parkway/I-84 or western Mass RT 7 or 8 to around Pittsfield that's me. Feel free to say hi, call me an asshole or faggot or whatever.

I wouldnt expect the majority of us to act like shitheads at a meet,

Looks awesome anon. You should total still come. I'm a beginner (im more into computer hardware than cars) and I never saw a whole New England meetup before, so I was wondering if we could do it. More in it for the fun of meeting other enthusiasts and learning more about cars.

I mean, I'm bringing a Dodge and all I know I'll get is

>hurrdodgeisshit

But its the fun of the trip.
>>
>>15256326
Most of the people that are shitheads wouldn't come to a meet because that requires actually meeting people face to face.

I'll go. Will be looking for future threads for sure...

Good luck getting out of that without points on your license. Boring roads flanked by police the whole way.

100 miles away we could have scouts on either end of some rad highway. And tax free liquor.

I would say at least you tried, but obviously not.
>>

>>15275955

See Maine fags post about the white mountains.

Does /o/ want to drive or circle jerk?
NH doesn't tell your insurance about speeding tickets if you're out of state cup much freedoms or some shit. I don't understand them. But 302, 112? You have all sorts of rad shit where there is NO police presence whatsoever.

Or MA.

>>
>>15276572
Alright most people have voted to go to mass as planned. Lets just stick with the plan. OP got a scratch on his car we don't need to change it all up now. Plan a CT meet after this meet happens.
>>
>>15277067
Should we do a cookout or something? I know those cali dudes do it and it looks like fun

>>15277352
>cookout

That is a very good idea
Peeps still seem unsure of where they wanna meet though. I'll stick with what anon 2 posts above me said and let's do this meetup in MA and then we can make one for CT

MA is just the best state as its pretty much in the center of New England
>>
>>15277352

I'm down for a cookout. Everyone can bring a little something for it
>>
>>15277352
sounds cool
i'll have to think of some kind of desert to feed a mob of autists
might do a fuck-huge trifle in a plastic storage bin, bake like 5 cakes for it and use three whole pints of heavy whipping creme and a bucket of strawberries
>>
>>15277111

We should dona north north east meet later in the summer.

I've camped and had a fire on top of that pass in the lot across the road, just draped a tarp that covered the reflectors and most of the fire. if there were less than ten of us it'd prolly fly.
>>
>>15278005

Sounds awesome. I bake shit all the time for stuff I go to. Usually I'm "the guy with the 100 cookies" for one meetup I'm always part of.

Ever noticed how almost no one bakes these days? Like you go to a church dinner and it's plates full of store bought cookies and awful mix brownies.
>>
About time north east has a sunday meet, I love my jersey and PA nerds but this new saturday schedule has made the last few meets impossible for me
>>
either way its most likely a 3-4 hour drive each way
>>
>>15277978
Yea that's what I'm thinking, especially if we found a campground or Park or something that has those built in grills or whatever where you just bring your own stuff and charcoal
>>
>>15278575
or shit if someone has one of those propane camper grills that can run off coleman fuel cans
>>
>>15278575
I think it's a cool idea but all I can think of is some one saying "I only eat well done" *proceeds to turn hamburger into burger flavored ketchup*
>>
>>15278637
grill burgers i take on the more well side but not burnt, theres always the option of just buying a box of hot dogs and burgers from costco or something, besides thin burgers are best for cookouts, they cook fairly quickly and evenly
>>
>>15254721
People act normal, from what I hear. There's a bit of drama over here in California according to some threads, but it's not so bad.
>>
>>15255412
You should go. I started coming on here just because I love driving, and once I learned a bit about cars I realized that most people here only have hobby level knowledge. There's an active debate on /o/ on track times and if two seconds matter ffs, nobody that has true experience with cars cars about a few seconds, feel comes above everything else.

Inb4 assmad GM fanboy, I don't care if the gtr beat out some American pos, they're both mediocre cars built only to enhance brand prestige, I've sat in both and didn't like either.

Dang I can't make this meet but if you guys do another MA/RI/CT meet this summer I'd be down.
>>
>>15290760
So I went up to stage fort and 127 to check it out b4 the meet and I have a few things to say
1. The are no built in grills at stage fort they have places to dump coals and picknet tables
2.
127 around stage fort seems like a nightmare to drive on I drove about an hour north and 10 min south of stage fort on 127
-speed limit is 20 mph for a lot of the road and
-is mostly a residential area that passes through poorly designed commercial areas i.e. little to no road markings 5 way intersection with no traffic signs
-if you got stuck behind some one you were there b/c not really enough straight areas to see if a cars coming - roads not the best shape a couple pot holes and fair amount of patched road cracks
- the bit south of stage fort was nice besides the pavement but it was short and 127 seems like it disappears in some random town b/c pull up to 5 way intersection almost no real markings for which road is which zero pavement markings so no idea where straight us maybe there's better stuff south but I couldn't get maybe gps would help but even then
-one nice thing was the scenery

If Gloucester is a wash Mohawk trail or southern NH looks to be the next alternative, sorry CT fags. It's on Route 2 (which to be clear, IS the Mohawk Trail.)
Actually if you're looking for a great weekend getaway, just catch Rt. 2 out of Cambridge- it thins out to a two lane a little west of Gardner, and becomes all sorts of fun thereafter (if you don't get stuck behind an RV). Route 2 to Route 202 towards Belchertown is supposed to be nice too although this time of year I'd expect traffic to get backed up during peak hours. I do the Kanc every winter and it's pretty nice since there's no cops nor traffic to impede fun but that's more of a northern NE thing as previously stated
>>
>>15303114
Those sounds really nice, it's a shame it's almost 3 hours away, but odds are I'll come anyway
>>
How about Fort Revere? It's not /that/ much farther than Gloucester and we could easily all meet at a shopping center Plaza then ride up to Fort Revere. It has grills, doesn't cost anything to be there (from what I read) and it's near the ocean too.

It's right now highway 3, and about 3 hours away from me up here in Maine so it can't be that far for your mass/CT guys.

I for one dislike being in traffic greatly. I live in the North Shore MA and know how awful travelling to South Boston can be

My vote is Southern NH, North Shore MA, or Northwest Boston (Arlington, Burlington, Woburn, Medford, Melsore, Wilmington).

We should go to a place that at least meet some of this:
- doesn't require an extra 2 hours to get there
- has smooth, fun, zippy roads
- good scenery a plus
- has somewhere near where we can all freely meet up
- has someplace where we can have a cookout/bbq/grill food

Thoughts, all?
>>
>>15304525

Where in the north shore? Salem here. I just don't know any good driving roads that run for more than a couple miles or aren't all 20mph residential areas.
>>
>>15304525

You know, the main point of this is just meeting other anons. If we can find a cool place to meet it's probably OK if we can't spend an hour duriftoing on the touge.

You know you're right. I'm not trying to race anyone (don't have a sports car), not trying to go fast. I'm trying to meet some anons, chat, laugh, have a good time, and cook up some grub. So, I do say that let's try and prioritize finding a central place that can host all of us and our cars. Like perhaps a mall parking lot

So thought i'd check it out really should have looked at gmaps cuz let me tell you the park is small like real small and there's only really parking for like 10-15 cars if tgey really scrunched together however the route wasn't terible I rode 3a up to here from its start and its essentially split into 3 parts the first part was some moderate hills and some twists theny you hit Plymouth and there was a lot of traffic after which is the second part which was similar to the first part then you get to another tiwn center crawl through there on to the third part which was a collection of long straight single lane roads that had really big lanes after which I went to the park which while looking nice and having grills its surrounded by some concrete rubble and houses which is kinda weird and makes it seem like you're somewhere between an industial park and someones back yard

On a separate note some person is leaning on the back of my car and I'm not sure how to tell them to stop
>>
If someone has a better idea, then please post it.

Stick maybe to east/central Mass or Southern NH. Needs to have a grill area. Check for some parks.
>>
>>15307565
Im going to check out Cochituate State Park and route 20 next
>>
>>15307547
Sounds like the perfect place for an autistic underground rave. But at least there are grills. It could work depending on how many people we have coming. Once we get a head count we'll know better

There's a highschool soccer field with parking and some other parking less than a mile away if we run out at the top there's like three or four grills and "we're supposed to call ahead for a permit or some shit if there's 20+people"
Pretty sure its too late and I don't think anyone would really care
Also found this little gem while I was there
the other park I mentioned earlier seems to be closed or something
>>
>>15308278
Imo we really need a head count soon I think this place is a solid option there's at least 4-5 plaza's we could meet up in on 3a before we get to the park

Tough choice with gloucester being closer, but mohawk trail seeming to be more fun of a drive

So do we have a set location set up? I see a buncha ideas still floating around here

How about Franconia Notch, NH? I-93 North is a beautiful stretch of road.
>>
>>15310049
This could be good. Can we still grill there?
>>
>>15310049
The requirements are a place for a cookout with grills, and a Plaza or some parking lot nearby for us to link up at. Any idea if this place fits the bill?
>>
>>15310205
Yes, there is a really nice state park there.
>>
>>15310255
All in favor of this? Sounds like we can park, chill, grill and go for a drive.
>>

MA local here. May I recommend some places too?

These sites all have Charcoal grilles there on site for us to use:

Cochituate State Park in Natick, MA. About 25 min west from Boston.
http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/dcr/massparks/region-north/cochituate-state-park.html

Hopkinton State Park in Hopkinton, MA. About 35-40 min west of Boston.
http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/dcr/massparks/region-north/hopkinton-state-park.html

This is one of my favorites that I haven't gone to in a while. Used to go alot as a kid for the batting cages and arcade games:
Salisbury Beach State Reservation in Salisbury, MA. About 40-45 min North of Boston.
http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/dcr/massparks/region-north/salisbury-beach-state-reservation.html

All 3 are solid. Let me know what you guys think. Although I like NH, and I-93 is indeed a nice stretch of road, I think that's a little too North NH.
>>
>>15310319
Franconia Notch State Park. There is a picnic area (I forget if they have grills there, so some anon should bring a grill along) and there is a parking lot where we can congregate. It is a little out of the way for Mass and Connfags, but it is not that long of a trip via I-93. Central/Western Massfags and Connfags can just take I-91 and hop on NH-302 near Newbury, VT.
>>
>>15310367
It sounds pretty good i think we should stick with this one
>>
>>15310349
This list is amazing anon. Bless your soul. I'm down for any one of these. Could someone make a straw pole of each of the different options we have so far? With the date so close, we really gotta figure this out. Or we just vote here as to which place we like.
>>
Not trying to shill too hard for NH, but I would also like to put forth Monadnock State Park as an alternative to Frnaconia Notch (Monadnock still matches all the criterion). It is a considerably shorter drive for Southern New Englanders (15-miles east of Keene).
>>
>>15310049

I93N: Where a 55mph speed limit doesn't stop people from doing 85-105 all the way from Boston to NH.
>>
>>15310367
Franconia's like three hours from Boston and there are already people in this thread who don't want to be stuck driving that far. If you live in CT you'll be spending 10 hours on the road in one day.
>>
>>15310349

Natick or Hopkinton sounds cool. I've been to Salisbury beach, and my memory is of a small trashy town with an overcrowded beach surrounded by grassy sand dunes. There've been two suicides at the gun shop in town too.
>>
>>15311007
Lmao why does that sum up trashy mass so well
>>
>>15310997
I did that yesterday and came close to that saturday

I vouch for Natick or Hopkinton. Both are just 12 miles are apart, a quick 15 min drive (don't mind that it says 30+min right now in the pic I'm attaching, it's due to the morning traffic). There is also another state park in between them in Ashland (also pictured here).

I'm sure we can find a shopping mall or place to all meet up around these 3 cities/towns, and then head over to any of the parks to hang out and grill. These are also pretty central for the CT and NH folks, or anyone else swinging by.
>>
>>15312090
>tfw both of these are like 30 min away

it really is a nice place with plenty of back roads. Very few cops i've ever seen around there

i only have experience with hopkinton and only on my commute to/from work
one potential issue is that a lot of the roads i do down are very residential so blasting down them at 60 would be problematic. there may be much more rural stuff around with no habitation but i don't know

Sorry I haven't been able to update, was at work. I'm gonna see what malls are around so we can all park and meet up.

At a quick glance, I see that the Natick mall is close to the State Park as seen in this pic. Although I've never been to the Natick Mall, I hear it's a pretty good mall, so I can only assume parking would be scarce on a weekend. Lemme see what else is around.

But I definitely do think we should decide probably tonight and at the VERY least tomorrow night as to where we're going.
>>
>>15314678
We'll defer to you mass anons judgement as to which is the best, since a lot of us have no experience with this area. Plus we can always use just any old parking lot to link up at. As long as there's an address to throw in my GPS I'm happy

If we go to either Natick, MA or Hopkinton, MA, would people still be willing to go?
It's not Gloucester which I assume is a much better drive for everyone since its not so far out Northeast.

I feel like the same 3-4 people have been talking in this thread the past 24 hours.
>>
>>15316080
probably because the OP doesnt contain "meet" anywhere which makes it go past catalog searches

also, is there no strawpoll for these potential new locations?
