I feel you pain when my '90 Accord started developing more problems.
I've owned it for over 2 years and spent thousands of dollars on repairs that was not worth doing.
As I was saving money up to get the repairs done, I realized that I had enough money (and a good credit score) to make a downpayment on a newer car.
I took the car to the Honda dealership, test drove Whitey, they took my car for $500 (I figured it was only worth $200 because of its history and problems it had), and 4 hours later, I drove off with my new 2005 Accord.
Car payment is $174/month for 48 months and insurance is $191.

Like the 5th gen UK prelude is known to have leaky seals and the engine eats through the piston rings, but the car shares a lot of parts with (i believe) the accord which was manufactured in bulk locally so locating spares isn't hard. I paid $4 for an oil filter and $2/NGK spark plug cuz there's so many of them around that it's not an obscure part to replace.
But at the same time i have another car and i wrench my own shit so i don't have labour costs and don't need to shit my pants over my car not working

Gas mileage is incredible. Been getting 26+ MPG even with some spirited driving.
The interior is very nice. The TSX gets a lot of flack for being "just a rebadged accord" but anyone who's been in an 7-8th gen USDM accord knows that the TSX is better. The leather seats are top notch.
Drives really well. I'm not a speed chaser or anything like that, but I can go fast if I want and hitting the Vtec while merging onto highways is a dope feeling. Handling is great.
6 years into the car and the only thing I've had to do with it is change the fluids. Absolutely no problems. Super reliable.
One drawback is that there is not that much space in the rear seat for passenger leg room.
Other than that I don't have anything negative to report about it. Has been my baby for 5 years now and I never want to sell this until it doesn't run.

Thanks mayne, still looking for a steering wheel and maybe white dials but thats about it for interior goals. the Torrus cupholder matches well but doesnt seem to have enough room to fully retract, its stuck in there now though so I probably wont ever get around to changing it, over all I would probably perfer the prelude center console aesthetically but mine is now way more functional and feels more like a cockpit

That's how I am too. These cars are very simple from my experiences so far. Getting a whole different car on a low budget is much worse I think instead of fixing the one you got.
Transmissions for these are pretty easy to get too. Check your local Facebook import parts groups and stuff like that. I got a full set of shocks and springs for mine worth over $600. Paid $140, plus another 140 to replace a blown shock.
