Even a fat chick would weight the same as big guy (unless she's fucking giant) and most of bikes can handle 2 big guys. Just don't do anything that can put strain on suspension.

Okay, that's too much. I guess you should just tell her that's the bike wouldn't handle it. I mean it will probably end up damaged.

You wouldn't be rude, you are simply stating that your bike isn't in tip-top shape and you wouldn't want her to get hurt right? Then after a few hours/days/weeks her doughy lard brain will forget about wanting to go for a ride.

Hell go all out and dribble a little oil on your forks so you can say "see its been leaking a bit, I'll have to get it fixed soon"

I'm like 350lb myself, plus my 130lb girl. I'm not going to bother converting that, go ahead if you care.

I ride an Fz6 with her on the back without much difficulty. The bike doesn't mind.

I mean, from their argument, it sounds like a truck almost hit the bike and subsequently the van. That let to a potential collision between the bike and van. If so, I don't see any damage in the bike at all. In any case, if that is all correct, I would only really blame the van people cause the passenger got out and immediately started the altercation. I will be I treated to see how the events led up.

Is a DRZ 400 even fast enough on a highway to reach 90 comfortably?

Im looking for a supermoto to daily about 40 miles, but the more i read about SM's (Supermoto's that come from the factory, not converted) the more i realize that they need more maintenance than a regular sport bike.

What are your guys opinions?
>>
>>15050369
How is the EFI going to break on a dirt bike/eduro anyways? Unless you fuck with the system, I don't see it happening.
>>
>>15050374

Until you rip your exhaust header apart on the destroyed roadways of your imagined post-apocalyptic netherworld.

The replacement you hobble together with rusting metal and arc weld with a series of galvanic batteries fueled by sea water and your own piss, it ends up making your bike run lean.

Unable to find a source of delicate precisely milled brass jets, you trudge on, the lean mixture causes so much heat you no longer turn your headlight on, instead the glow of your exhaust guides you. That is until you burn a hole in your piston.

You die of dysentery with no bike.
>>
>>15050415
A stock DRZ will barely reach 90. It won't be comfortable for anything above 70. Dual sports ans supermotos are terrible for the highway. I think you're looking at the wrong type of bike.

Also the converted ones generally require WAY more maintenance than the factory ones.
>>
>>15050364
I have push started my efi bike plenty of times, just don't be a dumb fuck who has to hold the starter down until it wont turn over anymore at all.
>>
>>15050410
It isn't accessible from the outside. And the injectors are in your engine.

Doesn't matter because it doesn't break.

>>15050415
90 km/h, sure. Do not get a supermoto to ride 40 miles daily. They are in town toys.
>>
>>15050437
It can be done if the battery is OK, just not high enough to rotate the engine. If battery is anywhere near its lifecycle or one of the cells is bust, you are fucked.

What a waste. They're only really good on really tight twisty roads.

>>15050470
Jets require incredible precision to correctly fuel the bike. It would take some good machines and a top .0000000001% craftsman to make one by eye. I wouldn't say that's applicable to the post-acropapliptic or breakdown-innawoods scenario that carb guys keep clinging to.

There are two kinds of very different bikes that are commonly called supermoto. How do we distinguish them in our speech?
>>
>>15050500
What are those two bikes?
Stock sumos?
Sumo conversions?
Hypermotos? (hypermotard, dorsoduro etc)
>>
>>15050500
I thought supermoto's were dirt bikes with road tires on them. what are people talking about when they mention "converting" them into supermotos other than the tires? suspension?
>>
>>15050470
They don't do it by eye, I've seen a REAL old timer lathe his own reamers that he used to jet his ancient Ford Coupe (mixture of 30s-40s parts?).

But I assumed it was just his magic, this guy could also make a perfect center bolt hole in a leaf spring with just an oxyacetylene torch.

Just a tiny little man, in a tiny little spring shop, surrounded by machinery he knew better than the people who built them. A real .1%

Well, let's say we have a wr250r and yz250f and we convert both to "supermoto". The first will be less powerful and less maintenance intensive, and will also be road legal. The second will be the opposite.

>>15050519
Those are still both conversions. Once you go custom, you can't generalize about things anymore. You can have a DR650 supermoto next to a KX500 supermoto, they're both just conversions, the spectrum is too wide to be more specific than that.
>>
>>15050532
>35 before you blink

atleast...system of a down was the shit
>>
>>15050509
It depends on what level of bike you want. Most of the street tarders do:
>electrical shit to get a dirt bike street legal
>17" wheels
>taller gearing
But people who race might do:
>17" wheels
>altered forks and shock
>possibly custom swingarm
>larger brake rotor, stainless steel braided brake lines, stronger master cylinder and caliper
>custom triple clamps for improved geometry
>building up the engine for more power
>>
>>15050533
>Unfortunately i would have to be in the 80mph~ range for about 20 miles.

>>15050541

There are conversions of bikes that have been initially road legal and detuned as fuck to meet asinine emission regulations, and then you have offroad only bikes that have also been converted.

>>
>>15050572
Stripped as in the bolt spins and doesn't tighten or stripped as in you've only started to mangle the threads (ie bolt starts turning and stops or gets tight)

If its the later buy a thread chaser and clean it up.

If it spins you need to heli-coil or do an insert.
