Bloody nope. Bastards literally wouldn't press a button to register the car unless I handed over the plates at the counter. Went there one night after work and pretended that I didn't have them at all, and the response I got was basically "well, we can't really transfer your registration until you go back to the Tasmanian Government and get replacements and then hand them over to us". So I went back the next day and just handed them over. Still real cut about it, they were the original 30 year old plates that it came out of the dealership with.
