Live for Speed. It's probably the best sim on the market for learning manual. There's still gonna be a learning curve for you to jump over when you actually get into a car, but you'll at least be able to familiarize yourself with the motions.
if you wanna get a good sense of driving a manual smoothly, turn the head movements in the View options all the way up. That way you have an emphasized visual indication on how poorly you drive stick

As great as LFS is, nothing will really teach you how to drive manual except driving a real car. LFS may simulate clutch temps/damage and stuff but it can't simulate being able to feel the bite point, the judder you get if you don't keep the revs up, or the embarrassment you feel if you stall in front of a queue of cars.
I find driving with my G27 H-shifter and clutch weird and artificial but maybe that's just me

So, with week 4 behind us, it's time to switch from high performance HP cars to econoboxes, for the "shitbox sunday" event at tsukuba.
The rules are pretty simple. Anything below 150hp qualifies to race. No semi-slicks or full blown racecars, if there are any with less than 150hp that is.
I expect entries with the mx-5 for this week. From the stock content, the mito, the 500 and the humble 595(if anyone is crazy enough to drive it). Everything else that can run, is a mod car, which are of course welcome. "Downgrades" are allowed, as long as the car comes with that sort of version, i.e. if someone wants to bump down the EG6 SiR with the D16 engine, feel free to do so.
Also pansyfaust pls finish the MR2, I would love to drive it.
does DiRT Rally count as a real simulation game? because if it does I'm proud of myself i'm way better at it than project cars

In all seriousness though, simulating damage and the structure of a rally weekend isn't too difficult is it? There is more to rallying than just driving physics (which Dirt Rally doesn't do too badly on). If I wanted a sim for driving I'd play rfactor or the like but I want a rally sim.
