It's overpriced and the heaviest panther ever created. Great roadtrip car if you can afford putting premium in for 300hp, loads of leather, soft touch materials, air suspension. But if you want a fast panther take a p71 (the lightest because has no options) and build it.
Not very fast, doesn't handle well, expensive for what you get, only really good as a boomer cruiser for when you're too cool for a Grand Marquis.
Get a Lincoln Mark VIII/SC400 for way less money. Or a well maintained E39 540i if you want a better all around car.

They're absurdly overpriced for what they are. I'd much rather buy a p71, MGM or TC and supercharge it. In the end you'll likely spend less money and certainly have a faster car.
Stock for stock they're slower than a 90s FWD Cadillac.
Modding them will kill any resale value, which it the biggest benefit to these over other Panthers. The only reason to really get one is if you plan on keeping it bone stock and low mileage.
I will say, if you just need an archaic Pseudo limited body on frame land barge, these are a better option than the Impala SS... but that's about it.
I know you want a Mark 8... Keep searching. Much better value for the dollar.

There's plenty of them out there in this price range/condition. My buddy just bought a DGGM 95 with 60k for $5,500 and there's plenty of Impalas that actually sell at those prices. Tons of people overvalue these and price them at 12k+, but they never sell. Same thing goes for GNs there's two that have been rotting near me for 20k, while at least ten cars in comparable condition have actually moved at 8-15k. These cars are not as rare as people make them out to be and so many owners bought them as "collectors items" that there are thousands of mint condition cars to choose from. If someone is going to drop 13k on an Impala or 20k on a GN, they have tons of absolutely pristine examples to choose from. Why would they settle for anything less than the lowest mileage, best condition example on the market?
It's the exact opposite case for most cars. Usually there are very few clean examples left, but with these "collectors mentality" cars, people all saved them so 85% of the cars left are all in pretty good shape and as much as some people try to ask for their "cherry", they'll never get it because it's absolutely a buyers market.

Markets will vary depending on location. Brothaz... especially ones in Oakland would be inclined to pay more for the Impala. It's a car that's deeply ingrained in their rap/gangsta culture. Most of those fucks don't even realize it's little more than a Caprice with an appearance package.
Most of the Impalas with 200k I've seen go for around 3 grand. High mileage ones like that are hard to come by though. Most of the once I come across are garage queens that rarely get driven.

I's been all smiles here, you get reliability, RWD, V8 roar, Comfyness, luxury, cheap to fix and maintain, and its surprisingly good handling (I've driven it in the twisties), it will certainly perform, I mean it's ~300hp, allegedly 360hp at the crack, and it looks like a god dam undercover cop car.
But it's heavy, you will get 25mpg on long cruises, 18 city takes Premium only that's about it.
If you are looking for performance, I say P71 with trickflow heads and plenum, along with 4.10 gears and a tune.
I've gotten compliments, mostly from baby boomers, I mean it will attract hood people, I know you are a notorious oil driller so that will work in you favor.

Like all cars, the advertised hp is at the crank not the wheels. Marauders were rated at 303 crank hp. I've seen them on the Dyno and they average 230-240 at the wheels.

It's fairly commonly known that a few fords of the early 2000's were underrated, it was because when Ford first came out with the 4v 4.6 in the Cobra it turned out to not make nearly as much power as advertised. Ford then fixed the problem and began to rate them a bit more conservatively to avoid another shitstorm. Hence, the 03/04 Cobra was rated at 390HP when it really made a bit over 400 at the crank (owners dyno'd around 370 at the wheels stock) and the 03/04 Mach 1 was also a bit underrated. It was advertised at 305HP but many owners put down around 270 on the dyno, indicating it was a bit underrated also.
The marauder I don't believe was underrated though, at lest I've never heard anything about it being so.
