I like the extended battery. I don't know if I just use it way too much compared to normies or if my apps are power-hungry or what, but I can usually get a full day or two out of mine before it needs charging. I have 3 stock 3100mAh batteries and they last about 4 hours each.
I took it off the charger 10 hours ago at 96% battery, and it's at 73% now. If I'd have been playing music on it at work all day (working outside), I'd probably be at 53%.

The short way of putting it is that you have to start from one side and then gradually press along the sticker, making sure no air gets trapped. Also, remember to wash and degrease beforehand, though that part should be obvious.

Heat gun is not only great for removal. It can help with application too. Get one. HF has em cheap.
when wet applying decals to the race car I have issues were they don't always stick
What you can do is:
Use a squeegee FLAT against the edge you are peeling
Roll the mask OVER the squeegee and SLOWLY move across the decal pulling the mask over the top of the squeegee
(sort of pulling 180 degrees with the squeegee pressing in the crease to help the letters detatch)
sometimes a second squeegee can be used to pull the letters away from the masking
p.s. I hate clear masking because it seems to just never way to let go of the sticker which is why I use the opaque papery stuff

You could have put two lines of masking tape on as a guide and put each rune between them. I would imagine you could get it pretty close to perfect. Close enough that no one would notice anyway.
