slipping clutch means that your road speed is no longer syched correctly with your engine speed. Techincally, if your clutch was slipping, your engine speed could exceed your transmission speed because the two can move relatively independent of each other. You'd probably have to be rolling down a pretty steep hill to reach 50 mph though

My main point was that it's pretty wild to have a car with a v8 doing forty in first and 60 in second. Most of the time a strong v6 is geared like that
What is that referred to? I don't know what to call it when one car might go faster in first while another car has to shift much earlier. I heard someone say it has higher rpm but I know that's not true considering my car doesn't rev very high.
