Lots of transmission problems. Might be fixed after the recall but why put yourself through this trouble? Just buy an accord v6 or Mazda 6 and call it a day.

The only upsides to the BMW are slightly better fuel economy and a tiny bit more rear passenger space. I wouldn't go for the BMW though. Less reliable, less comfortable, much more expensive to repair when things break. I'd just go for the Mercedes, it's not as spacious as the Accord, Camry or Taurus but it's much more fun to drive due to the real wheel drive layout.

The mazda6 is the real competitor for the 200, since they're both mid size. The mazda3 will be a lot smaller but a wayyy better and more reliable car, while the 200 might be a little more comfy

my grandpa had a sebring that worked just fine for the longest time.
my mom had a pacifica that got our family around great. we would take an 8+ hour each way trip at least once every two weeks and it handled it. i don't remember it being in the shop a ridiculous amount.
my grandpa had a dodge dakota that we used as a farm truck. that thing was on it's last legs but it managed to get us to town time and time again.
again, i have never personally had a terrible experience with a dodge-chrysler and yet my perception of them is almost completely negative. propaganda?
