op here

how does the 200 compete with the mazda 3.

as they have similar price points in my area
>>
>>14706182
wow it actually looks nice and appealing unlike generic angry design you have nowadays
too bad it's a chrysler
>>
>>14706222
well im buying a new car so i cant really avoid that huh
>>
Why do people buy chrysler

Chrysler are the cars people who don't know anything about cars buy because they are cheap
>>
>>14706224
MAzda 3 is better
Better fuel econ due to skyactiv compression
>>
>>14706224
The 200 will wipe the floor with that Mazda shit.
>>
>>14706226
whats so bad about Chrysler now that they have been re-engineered?
>>
>>14706244
i'm still skeptical
>>
>>14706244
They're owned by FIAT, that should tell you plenty
>>
>>14706234
people buy Chrysler because they look great, drive smooth, and are extremely reliable with proper maintenance. my 300 has 234,000 miles and is still smooth as silk what experience do you have with them?
>>
>>14706253
exactly what problems do they have? no one has been able to answer WHY Chrysler is bad....
>>
>>14706244
There's nothing wrong with them. /o/ gets butt blasted Chrysler beats anything their shitty Japanese manufactures shit out.
>>
>>14706260

Lots of transmission problems. Might be fixed after the recall but why put yourself through this trouble? Just buy an accord v6 or Mazda 6 and call it a day.
>>
Used car dealers laugh at Chryslers, but they sell well to niggers. If someone GAVE me one I'd sell it so fast the shock waves would break every window in the neighborhood.

Pay a friend to kick you in the taint whenever you consider a Chrysler product, Kicking should be maintained until the desire passes.
>>
>>14706182
Pros:
>new car with a warranty
>isn't fucking hideous
>decently comfy

Cons:
>It's a fucking Chrysler
>it will probably fall apart just out of warranty
>it's a boring, vanilla FWD automatic shitbos
>garbage handling and slow
>>
>Buying a Chrysler
>Ever

Take all that hard earned money and flush it down the toilet. In the end you'll be poorer but will still have your sanity and dignity.
>>
>>14706199
The Fusion sport has a V6 making 325hp and AWD.
>>
>>14706629
Can tell you never bought a muscle car. Mopars are worth more on average than most antique cars in that respect.
>>
>>14710249
Not on sale yet.
>>
>>14710276
They're available next week in California & Michigan. I assume that means within the month for the rest of the US.
>>
so i have 15,000 cash to buy a new dd, what should i get it needs to be efficient and 4 doors
>>
>>14710249
but fusions have a shit ton of electrical issues and problems with their power steering
>>
>>14706381

i feel like every single brand has its handful of shit stories and shitty people ive owned fords (engine blew at 50k) ive owned chevys (lifters broke, and tranny broke) porsche (literally everything broke) a toyota camry (steering column issue) a mazda (electrical failures galore) and my chrysler 300 has over 200,000 miles with n major issues... maybe i just have backwards car luck or something

Mercedes C250

It's RWD, affordable, newish, efficient, comfortable, handles well, and is reliable.

So they claim. I'll believe it when I see it.

Oh murrca, you so hilariously stereotype.
>>
>>14706182
I had one as a rental for a week. It was really nice looking from the outside. It was extremely gutless and slow, and despite this got poor fuel economy. The ride, drive and handling is comparable to a toyota camry.
>>
>>14710796
[citation needed]

Recent accords have no transmission issues. The Mazda engines are bulletproof. Fuck off.

Azera, Taurus, charger are full size, a segment above.

Fucking kek

This is good advice for duds like OP and others defending Chrysler
>>
>>14711038
New Mazda 6 isn't available with a V6
>>
>>14710971
The only upsides to the BMW are slightly better fuel economy and a tiny bit more rear passenger space. I wouldn't go for the BMW though. Less reliable, less comfortable, much more expensive to repair when things break. I'd just go for the Mercedes, it's not as spacious as the Accord, Camry or Taurus but it's much more fun to drive due to the real wheel drive layout.

Could that be the new Alpha but rebadged?
>>
>>14706580

by 'fall apart' he doesnt mean some few things will break he means the transmission will explode into a milion pieces like 80k miles in and total your car

ever seen a chrysler with over 100k miles? guarantee is has a tranny swap. over 200k? they dont exist
>>
>>14711173

now i just need to find one to test drive thank you
>>
>>14711267
um my 300 has over 200,000 with no tranny swap and well no real issues at all
>>
>>14711267
Most Dodge-Chrysler products from the last decade have heavy duty Mercedes transmissions. I really doubt any Chryslers other than Avengers and Pacificas are blowing transmissions.
>>

impressive there are people clueless enough to actually buy them.

By all appearances a really solid car, even considering how super-competative the segment is. Also somewhat unique vs. the billions of Accords/Camrys/Fusions. Only down-side is likely resale.

My family has a town and country (4 kids). Parents bought it with the lifetime bumper to bumper warranty that Chrysler was offering in 2009. It's at 91k with no issues whatsoever
>tfw your warranty covers everything forever
>>
I'm waiting patiently for AWD SRT4 Dodge Dart. It will be my first new car.
>>
>>14714392
Well I'd quit waiting. I wanted one so bad as well, but Chrysler is canceling the Dart and 200 after the 2017 or 18 model year I believe. Maybe (hopefully) they'll build an SRT Dart as a send off. Until then, I wait for the next MazdaSpeed3 and 6.

Holy shit thats actually noice
why do gm kill anything good?
>>
>>14706182
>chrysler
>ever
>>
>>14710883

No, /o/ is just filled with idiots who think a JD Power rating is everything without bothering to look at what affects those stupid ratings. I've owned several FCA products and haven't had trouble with any of them. The one negative would be that my mom's 200 needed a new shock after 5 years. Other than that, I've beat the shit out of my cars with no issues. /o/ likes to pretend any Chrysler product will explode ten minutes after you leave the dealership.
>>
>>14706182
OP, I briefly considered getting one of these.

Pros:
>Incredible options and interior styling for the class/price
>Decent power from the V6

Cons
>Chrysler reliability
>Doesn't handle that well.

Get one if you want a comfy ass apartment on wheels. Otherwise, skip it. It's great for being stuck in traffic for hours.
>>
>>14706224
The Mazda's a better car, but the 200's the better couch-mobile.
>>
>>14706182
How slow is the 4 cylinder. I am looking for a small to midsize car, open to hatch or wagon, that has adaptive cruise control and 8 seconds or less 0-60 that hopefully isn't too pricey an engine upgrade, if needed at all.

I bet a used Chrysler 200 would a deal
>>
>>14715076
Canceling the Dart and 200 is pretty disheartening: Chrysler ***FINALLY*** has decent and decent-looking compact and midsize cars for the first time in ~20 years, and they cancel the whole line.
>>
>>14715344
It was their only domestically produced car. They couldn't afford to do it vs the 300 made in canada.
>>
>>14706214
does it have the shitty ZF 9 speed?
>>
>>14715344

As a Fiat/Dodge fan, I'm kind of glad.

Both a shitty quality cars and I welcome Fiat's willingness to work with other manufacturers to replace both of those.

Maybe the replacement will have an SRT4 trim.
>>
>>14718156
Their stated reason for canceling them was that they believe that gas being cheaper will make it more profitable to sell bigger, heavier cars. There likely won't be an immediate replacement, or their reasoning or killing them now is bullshit.
>>
>>14706209
>what problems are common
Everything breaking
>>
>>14706224
The mazda6 is the real competitor for the 200, since they're both mid size. The mazda3 will be a lot smaller but a wayyy better and more reliable car, while the 200 might be a little more comfy
>>
as much as i mentally jump to shitting on chrysler:

my grandpa had a sebring that worked just fine for the longest time.

my mom had a pacifica that got our family around great. we would take an 8+ hour each way trip at least once every two weeks and it handled it. i don't remember it being in the shop a ridiculous amount.

my grandpa had a dodge dakota that we used as a farm truck. that thing was on it's last legs but it managed to get us to town time and time again.

again, i have never personally had a terrible experience with a dodge-chrysler and yet my perception of them is almost completely negative. propaganda?
>>
>>14711217
What? No. 200 is FWD/AWD. Giulia is RWD/AWD
>>
>>14706222
>I DON'T LIKE NEW CARS
>THEY'RE SHIT
Why don't you DD a new car before shit talking? I thought all the electronics were useless too until I got a modern car and it's worth the convenience.
