I don't have the copypasta but yeah, time for this again. Was in an accident, just got out of hospital, don't remember it, but my Clio is dead. Might get an Abarth or a BRZ next.

What's the lowest metric a hatchback must meet before it can be considered hot?

Brand new? Fiat abarth in America The sonic rs is close in price but heavyer.
>>
>>14672743
Looking for used, any year.

Guessing SVT would be the cheapest on average.
>>
I'm buying a toyota starlet wish me luck boys
>>
>>14672859
they're pretty overpriced cars for what they are
here you can buy a civic, add a turbo to the d16 or swap in a b16/b18 and still be paying less then a starlet asking price

they're good looking cars though
>>
>>14672259
you have to drive them before deciding
all the new ones have electrical assisted steering making them boring/numb/arcade-like etc etc etc
I drove the 500 Abarth and the fiesta ST and I was disgusted by their steering
My wife drives a Mazdaspeed3 (2012) and it's not much better
I'm afraid to try the toyobaru (my last hope for a decent car) because if that one is just as bad I don't know what else to have as a next car.
If you want fun and you don't need more than 2 seats, nothing beats the MR2 Spyder (unless you have a lot of money to burn)
>>
>>14672927
Oh I can get a starlet for only 1200 here, in decent shape. I'm a yurop so
>>
>>14672994
Maybe look at Suzuki Swifts? They're not as popular as other hot hatches but still a fun drive, and look pretty cool imo.
>>
>>14672945
I like my toyobarus steering. It's pretty good. It is the only "performance" car I have driven but its as good or better than most old shitboxes feel.
>>
>>14672945
You won't like the BRZ, I crossed shopped the shit out of things before buying the fiesta st, and that's because I got a brand new 2015 for under 18k so I couldn't really pass up the deal.

I was sad, I spent the better part of a year going on extended test drives and tested the BRZ three times only to be disappointed. Too bad, because that's the one I really wanted.

if you like sports hatchbacks then you are best off going for an older hot hatch, MK1-2 gen VW golfs are good, other than this the old 205 GTI or renault 5 turbo, a bit pricey albeit, if you are considering a BRZ or a hatchback why not something better than a BRZ in everyway and also hatchback, like an AE86 ?

>they'll never put AWD into Fabia other than the WRC rally specials

I thought the 1st gen Fabia and Octavia looked mundane and boring, but with the years I came to appreciate the design. The new Fabias are butt ugly though.

The best hot hatch money can buy you is E46 compact
>>
>>14674585
I would also like to know
>>
>>14675198

Are you serious ? No brakes, it weighs as heavy as a e46 m3 and is less reliable than the old compact e36 !

Buy an another Clio. 5 stars at the EuroNcap, that's why you still alive.

I just bought the new clio rs for my wife to replace her clubman cooper s, it's not so bad...

What's the ST like? Currently driving a Swift Sport and was thinking of taking one of these for a test drive, along with a BRZ.
>>
>>14673678
I have one, an 07 Swift Sport. Very reliable, I've had it two and a half years and the only thing I've had to change was the front control arms - the suspension is very stiff which probably wore out the bushings. Front tyres don't last long at all though, a set of Falken ZE914 last about 10k miles on the front.
>>
>>14680549
Go do it, you will immediately appreciate the feel of the ST. BRZ, not so much.
>>
>>14680619
Well it'll not be for a few months, I'm starting a new job and I want to wait until I have my review. Did you do anything to the ST? Seen a few for sale with the Mountune kit.
