just bought an '87 240 DL with 2l petrol engine and i love it. only thing that worries me is that the engine bounces around A LOT when idling and turning off the ignition, motor mounts seem fine so any advice on that would be appreciated

no. i don't have the tools for that yet. i'm going to take it to a shop for a tune-up this week.
so the engine wobble could simple be the timing being a bit off?

if the engine runs smoothly it could be a damaged flywheel or crankshaft pulley, also check your ignition timing and spark plugs
