That poor V6 got 14mpg, had a rear main seal leak, weak fuel pump, smelly A/C and forgot to shift to 4th half the time. Was a lifesaver when I had nowhere to sleep, put the seats down and crashed in the trunk.

Slow as fuck but it was a tank. Had it until I was 17 when an impatient Russian cunt merged in front of an 18 wheeler from behind me and he knocked her into me then hit me. Got pushed over 100 feet and managed to walk away with a few fractures and 6 months 5 days a week of chiropractor visits.

Yeah I know. I thought it was an suv for some reason.

I don't need a vehicle that bloated to mall crawl and use on snowy driveways. I want something that will at least handle rough roads on a regular basis without eating drivetrain components.

She was a fun little car. A bit twitchy in the corners thanks to a very loose back-end, but god damn did she like to play.

She had a lot of dead spots in the power band due to an intake limiter block or whatever they're called, but when I took this out the engine had a nice power band all the way to the limiter.

It may look like it, but if your in a situation where you have to worry about being impaled by a hood ornament, I think you have a much bigger problem. The Defender front end is a brick so Europe decided that bricks are too dangerous.

Yeah but I wasn't just talking about that, Land Rover as a whole is so far from what they were born to be. The vehicles they make now are no longer the utilitarian farmer's chariots that could go anywhere and be fixed by tool chest. Everything in them now is very fragile and electronic/computerized. They cater to women with heated seats, power windows, an infotainment system that won't ever be used.
>>
>>14040457
Oh I completely got what you were saying. But the Defender was the "utilitarian farmer's chariots", but for various reasons Europe, their main market, decided that it was too unsafe to make anymore.

I had image related.
Was fun to drive but unreliable as fuck.

Don't regret selling it at all...
I sold it to some white-trash hillbilly at just the right time. About a month after getting rid of it, got a letter in the mail asking me to claim my "abandoned vehicle" and pay an impound fee. Hickster never registered it or transferred the title, left it on the highway when it finally conked out on him.

Luckily I filed my report of sale.

Had a shitload more fun in the 76 Mustang II that I got later on.

Your post gave me that chokey feeling like when you're about to cry

First car that got me through all my tests and highschool and most of college was an 04 Focus sedan. Base model. Black. Auto. Everything was plastic or plush and it was super cheap and a bit under powered, knocked a mirror off on some bushes on the side yard while backing out within a week of driving it. My dad did the same thing, and my younger brother who now drives it did the same thing as well. Lost virginity in back seat, and car got lil bro through his tests, HS, and currently college. Damn little thing is a trooper never given us a lick of problems other than the tranny being blown when we bought it with ~120K miles on it.

Pic related is first car I bought, sitting in garage, haven't driven it in forever, miss it dearly when I drive it until it reminds me why I'm driving another Focus for daily now. I've wrecked it once and repaired it, probably shouldn't have but it pulls on my heart strings in a way only an individual's car can.

Bit of rust on it...Quite a bit actually...but I have dreams for this car...Some day...I always talk to it as if it can hear me and say that some day we will pull you out of this crap and you'll be pretty again.

Pic related was wreck, that was actually the most fun thing I've ever done. The car, being nearly 2 tons pushed a first-gen Traverse forward from ~20mph like nothing. I felt absolutely no jolt or shock, though my car definitely took more damage. Busted radiator and A/C condenser spraying glorious R12 into the atmosphere that haven't worked the same since I fixed it but I went to a junkyard and some guy's parts car and scrapped a hood, fender, grille, light assembly, etc, bought a new radiator and had the bodyshop do the A/C condenser which was converted to R134 post-work.

Car hasn't been the same since the wreck but it hasn't really been too different. So..That.

Brother! Mine luckily survived without the radiator or anything else mechanically being damaged, only some of the steel got bent and subsequently replaced plus the radiator-cowling being blown to bits because the radiator popped from its mountings and pushed it into the engine, shattering to a million pieces

Yeah I spent about a month not driving due to bodywork and running around like a squirrel trying to scrounge for parts. It happened in late fall or early early winter IIRC because when I got my car back from the shop there was snow on the ground.

Yeah there was this black guy in a sketchy dealer...ship...place? with a silver 4 door with all kinds of shit in the trunk and it smelled like bad air fresheners. Also it had an ugly early 00's Sony head unit. Off that I ended up pulling all the parts that weren't new actually, except for the aux fans and the actual belt driven fan shroud. Yes I have three fans on my car. I had to rip apart one at the junkyard that I couldn't do to that guy's parts car because he needed to still turn profit on it. The aux fans were retarded hard to get out due to the A/C system on the donor car and I just ended up using a bolt cutter to break the line and get at it. After that it was a breeze to get out.

Pic related was, I believe, the donor for the aux fans. Wagon though the pic makes that hard to tell. Not sure wtf engine that is. It's not the M103 and it's not the M104, at least not the one in my car. Rear lid was either removed or had the emblems gone (can't remember) so I have no idea what it was packing. I'm not an expert on identifying all the Benz engines, just the 103 and 104.

Use HC-12 refrigerant instead of r134a. I use it in the R12 A/C system that is in my 1983 BMW 320i and it is much better than the r134a was. You can get 12 6oz cans of envirosafe hc-12 for $50.
>>
>>14046265
That's one thing I was always confused about.. Are there any mechanical or physical differences between an R12 and an R134A system or are they more or less interchangeable? I mean the one from the wreck was totally shot and they replaced it with a new one.

Either way, the system it has works pretty well even with 134 but if I ever want to upgrade I'll keep it in mind

I'm pretty sure I saw that today on the Barnet highway
Is it all white?

All white yes, but wasn't me.
I'm on a 3 day trip to Kelowna

I remember there was also an all white crown vic that rolled past a tri-cities car meet a while back, about a month
Was that you?
We all thought it was a cop but weren't sure

nah, unfortunately that wasn't. I only drive the crown vic if i'm going through Surrey for whatever reason. Bulletproof doors or what not

For my daily driver I just drive a shitty 2006 aveo with 17k kms

Holy shit I almost completely know this feel.

Except the wrecking your first car part. That's just retarded.

Mine needs tiny obscure vacuum hoses and probably a fuel pump and most likely a power steering pump as it sits parked in my parent's driveway. It's been sitting there for 5 years now.... :-(

I'll buy your driver's door and mirror off of you, or trade you with a steep payback. Mine's rusted to shit lol.

Nigga why not buy bulk tubing from home depot and use that for vacuum tubing? Pretty sure you can find SOMETHING that fits. That's what I did for my windshield washers when the tube cracked...Unless there's some reason why that wouldn't work.
