What tires do you guys use for occasional drags but on a daily car? looking for options and opinions on what set to buy

define occasional drags..

do you mean at a strip? then just buy 2 rear drag radials.

do you mean on the street?
sorry im not dominic toretto
>>
>>14019534
both. drag strip every other thursday and streets every other tuesday. i plan on using the car as a daily for some time so i know i should worry about wearing them down quite a bit.
>>
>>14019530
i do plan on tracking my car next year but i need to prep it first atleast to handle somewhat good

Anything DOT approved but you'll only get maybe 15k miles out of super expensive tires... take it from me

Got about 15k miles out of these. Hooked good on the street but actually did "meh" on the track. Hooked but seemed to always give me bad wheel hop on the track.
BFG G-Force KDW Drag Radials

>>
>>14019654

>>
>>14019680
and im suppose to care about your opinion why? i havent said anything about it being a racecar. i just like to enjoy my car more than just day to day driving. thanks for your input though ill remember that for when i care.

Then I would say learn throttle control and I wish you good luck if you're over 300hp
>>
>>14019688
those are more around my budget thanks alot.
>>
>>14019716
i have been forced to haha.
>>
>>14019512
Listen faggot, if your not getting drag radials the next best thing would be track tires, after that for both daily driving and grip would be Summer tires
>>
>>14019688
this

BFG Sport Comp 2's are the best bang/buck period.
>>
>>14019512
P zero Nero all seasons
>>
>>14019512
Nitto nt555r should be your answer if you're not putting a good amount of power (especially if you're driving a stick). And they seem to last the longest of any drag radials i've used but about the least amount of traction.

If you're putting some power down just get some mickey thompsons they hooked the best for me. They should also last about 5k maybe 10k if you constantly check tread wear and adjust accordingly.

thanks guys im aiming towards the bfg sport comp 2 fit my budget perfectly for now i will plan on getting full drag radials as soon as more funds appear! appreciate the help
>>
>>14019512
>drag radials
>on a daily car

Nigga, do you want to die if you drive over a puddle? Dont fucking race your DD you dumb shit motherfucker. A daily driver is just that, a daily driver.
>>
>>14021278
i live in cali it hardly rains. hence why theres a drought.
i race it all the time. if it brakes i fix it... nothing new here...
>>
>>14021285
Drag radials are soft, you will fucking destroy them in a week
>>
>>14021291
true. after hearing the opinions here. i think track tires would be best. save the drag radials for the strip. im just tired of loosing grip with every pull.
>>
>>14021299
Learn throttle control
>>
>>14021285
just get a set of drag radials and swap them over when you race it. cheaping out on the only thing that contacts the surface you're moving on is a stupid idea
>>
>>14019716
nice filename
>>
>>14021309
not cheaping out still plan on spending 100 a tire its just i cant afford full on drag radials just yet. tommorow i plan on placing the order in for the bfg tires
>>
>>14021319
>100 a tire

that's cheaping the fuck out, nigger. My tires cost 170 each.
>>
>>14021328
thats the price of the BFG Sport Comp 2's wtf are you talking about. i doubt thatll consider it cheap. idgaf how much you paid for yours.
>>
>>14021341
What you buying them for? Your little tykes car? Those are wal-mart tires.
>>
>>14021344
if you say so.
>>
>>14021319
The continental extreme contacts on my subaru are all season performance and it's 500 for a set.
>>
>>14019512
Michelin Primacy HPs

Because fuck drag times I'm not a redneck.
>>
>>14019512
Just get proper drag tires, and buy a shitbox DD for less than what you'd spend on wear if you DD'ed race-optimized tires.
>>
OH OK
>>
I love tis
>>
Alright fags their are a couple of tires within the $20 of each other that im looking at. Which one will be best for dd and hitting the touge on the weekends. In no particular order they are:

Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport
BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2
Continental ExtremeContact DW
Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position
>>
>>14019597
What business does that piece of shit have on a track?
>>
>>14025584
I'm not him but if I recall, that DSM is fairly mean man.

>>14024022
Having owned all but the re760s, id go with the S04s. The grip they have is awesome and no road noise at all.

>>14019512
Mickey Thompson ET Streets. Good drag tires are not cheap at all a rear set runs me around 230 each tire. If you are making more than one trip to the strip a month, get some cheap steelies on amazon that are right for your vehicle and slap a set of ET Drags on them. You will spend more running the ET Streets on the road when you have to buy a set every 10-15k than you would have with a good set of all seasons and a rear set of drags.
