Recently, when I start my car, generally when it's kinda cold outside, it does this (what's in the webm)
Revs drop super low, it makes this awful noise, and when I rev it, it drops to near 0 before slowly and really unresponsively climbing back up to 1k.
Is this just cause of the cold? Is there any way to remedy this? Could it be anything else? Any help is appreciated, thank you
webm originally has sound but can't post in /o/

shameless bump for help

It's the cold. Run the car in neutral to warm it up.

just letting it sit in neutral at the near-0 revs with the CEL will be fine?
I'm asking seriously, just to clarify, in case that sounds uh, not serious or something

Didn't see CEL.
Check the /hg/ general. Theyre pretty helpful.
Best advice I could give you is check fluids (oil, etc.)

probably a fuel or air sensor, maybe the thermostat
run an OBD scanner

OBD1 so nobody has one

I would say also maybe spark. I had a low idle problem on start up and it was because the plug in 3 was gunked up a bit. I wiped it off torqued to spec and now I'm getting much better cold starts.
Check plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter. If these are good bring it to a shop for engine diagnostic. Midas will do it for $75 and give you a report on what's wrong.
Always include make and model plus engine spevs and stuff when you ask for help. Crappy idle when its cold can be caused by lots of things. Is your oil the proper weight for your environment? Have you done all proper checks and maintenance yet? Air and fuel filter etc. Rest the ecu and see if that helps. Could also be a vacuum leak. Or a dirty intake and idle air control valve. Or the timing might be off.
Spark Plugs?

Or buy one of those OBD2 plugs on amazon and do it with those, google the codes, some are described on the app
