I don't think so cuzzie bru. As I mentioned, turbo is a pipe dream, I just need my DD to not leak oil like a BP drill platform is all.

Basically the most redeeming feature of an E7x is that it should be cheap. They're not particularly good, with fucking garbage engines and built like a tin can.
A friend had one, and it was fun because it didn't cost much at all and had a locked diff, so you could abuse the clutch and slide in silly places in the rain. Fuck it was slow though

Yeah, I'm under no delusions that they're a secret fast car or anything. I'm just wanting to get into wrenching myself and figure if I can pick one up on the cheap and do a 4AGE swap with some friends it'll be a good learning process.

They mostly came out with the 2L 4-cyl in N/A and turbo, but I believe some came out with 12A and 13Bs as well
12A's are fucking crazy for parts, so avoid them, 13B's still have lots of gear our there.
Rotaries aren't too bad to work on really, but wouldn't recommend it for someone starting out.
Kind of hard to say what would be easiest, the old FE and FET engines are really bloody reliable. Dunno much about tuning them up though
