I always liked Astra F interior more though.
Plastics were very good and never loosened or faded in almost 20 years.
With that huge comfy dash cavity and the few well placed buttons and selectors.
Also the hidden ash tray that slowly opens when pressing the switch was really classy, and that balcony like spot right below the display.
Even the glovebox had a wonderful solid feel to it and came with a lock.
It did that metallic "clack" when closing it.

Buttons on the edges of the gauge cluster bulge, they were very common in '90 japanese cars.
Too bad we will never have cool solutions like that in the future.

I love cars that don't have the flat OEM fenders. Why is it a thing? Has it become mandated for vehicle safety?

The only time it is acceptable imo is on the Rx7 FC and FD with only a few kits. 90% of them still look like shit, but a couple of them look good. Also There is one for the SW20 where you use the Mitsubishi FTO headlight or something which looks good. Your pic looks good but that is about it.

I still prefer the pop ups though. The cars in pic related with fixed headlights look good, but the one with the pop ups right beside it looks way better. I especially love pictures of pop ups with them actually up.

God I hate sunroofs, but every damn manufacturer bundles them with the good options like alloy wheels or more powerful engines and it sucks so much. Is it too much to ask for parts you already make, just in a different combo? Same thing with limiting interior and paint colors to certain combos and transmissions.

I live in Texas. The sun is brutal here 99% of the time and I never get to even open the sunroof shade on my car. I'd literally sunburn if I did, and my A/C barely makes up for the heat even with the windows all closed.

Who said anything about black headliners or black leather? Yeah my dash is black, but it's soft touch squishy material, and my headliner and carpet is light grey and my seats are a 90's greenish grey cloth pattern. Most cars of the last 15 years or so with black interiors at least have a light upper half. I'd never buy leather in a million years either, and my windows currently let too much light in without tint, it gets pretty hot inside with just the fan on.

Sunroofs might be nice in places that get up to 80 degrees max but otherwise, no. Plus when they get old you have to worry about them sealing properly. Since I never get to use it, I'd rather have a more rigid roof, 50-100 pounds less weight, and no sealing properties. I do plan to autocross my car so it would be better without it.

I found out a few months after I bought my FB that the sunroof is not the stock sunroof. The guy that owned it before me literally sawed through the roof, fitted some weather stripping, and fitted a glass pane with these shitty plastic latches. There is no sun shade, just the darkened glass. If I want to open it, the options are to open one side of the latches and have it propped up (pic related), or remove it completely and throw the glass in the trunk. If those latches ever break, I'm fucked. If the glass ever breaks, I'm double-fucked.

Weird shitty laws about the car needing to have a counterpart with the same specs, engine and whatnot in LHD if you're supposed to get it registered

Supras are OK because they exist in LHD and RHD, while something like the Skyline GTR only exists in RHD and is therefore not possible to get registered

I can take in an AE86 if its LHD, but with the GT-Apex, to the best of my knowledge, not coming in LHD its not possible to have it registered

From my experience; yes, they can be anal about it

You can throw in a form and hope for the best, but on a general basis they are VERY relucant unless the car is older than thirty years, and even then they can often be reluctant if its RHD... still, they have become more lenient over the years, so maybe one day we'll have laws that make sense

Maybe I should make a phonecall tomorrow, ask what the possibility is for importing an AE86 from Japan, although I'd probably want a LHD one anyways

>>13805284

Fucking this. Old school digital dashes with the dog bone style steering wheel get me hard like nothing else.
I wish someone would make a car with that.
It'd make me all...

>How the hell is 190 horsepower FWD sleeper

190 horse from an N/A motor in 1990 was p. fucking good for it's time.

Stick it in an unassuming FWD shitbox and it doesn't look special , regardless what it says on the tin.
