I wonder how that tracking would work though because he just sent them using SwissPost. So it changes hands to the US Post Office once it gets into the states. I doubt it would be the same tracking info. Who knows.
If he did UPS or DHL, the tracking would be easier. When I shipped the domestic ones, the US Post Office gave me the tracking numbers for free which was decent. I was expecting an extra fee like they do for everything else.

According to www.post.ch (Swiss Post), economy shipping to the USA takes 11 - 15 working days, that's around three weeks.

Tracking is only available for priority parcels from Swiss Post (which is just ripping people off, since the package gets an internal number regardless). Priority shipping costs another 8$ extra. I had one parcel that I sent priority because I didn't know at the time and shipping turned out to be somewhere close to 30$ for that one.
The shipping part would have been a lot easier if I'd been located in Germany, there you get a DHL parcel for 7€, which always includes tracking and all the fancy stuff.

You must take into account that when they were new most cars on European streets were around 1 tonne. A Twingo is around 800kg if I remember right.
Today most cars are WAY heavier than that and maybe even most weight as much as TWO Twingos.
The Twingo was decently safe for its time, as you can see in the image, they even got a lot safer after the facelifts that strengthened the car, they even got 3/5 NCAP stars (an BMW E36 3series of that era only got 1/5) but on today's streets it looks a bit different.
They're definitely safer than cars like the older Fiestas, Pandas etc. but if you want an older, really light car, you pretty much can't fucking expect bleeding edge safety standards.
Safety comes with weight and up to date systems in most cases.
A 800kg 90's box just simply can't be as safe as a 1400kg 2015 shitbox.
