What have you done to your car recently?
>Project mu ls400 brake pads front/rear
>rebuilt/painted calipers
>cleaned surface rust off caliper guide pin (rubber wasn't installed over pin correctly last time by mechanic)
>Hel braided brake lines
>slotted rotors
>bled brake fluid

>new pads
>new intake
>oil change and spark plug cleaning

>soon to get new headers
>soon to get new exhaust
>soon to get new rotors and calipers
>soon to get new suspension
>soon to get new seats driver/passenger
>soon to be done maybe middle of next year

If pic related, drilled rotors are for ricers. They do nothing but reduce braking performance and induce cracking if you end up racing it. Or just come off the freeway and slow down quickly.
>>
>>13870934
Sorry not a tripfag. Done anything to the car recently?

Had to put a new radiator in the relly cur after the 23 year old oem one's plastic neck snapped inside the upper hose. Took the opportunity to remove the AC condenser in front of it since my AC no longer works and is getting fully removed in the spring anyways.
>>
>>13870958 Nice.
Na just dimpled not drilled. Only wanted slotted but these were cheaper for some reason. Rotors are vented anyway, no point in drilling holes.
>>
>>13870958

His rotors are dimpled, not drilled.

One of my black ones was missing, so I used one of the bigger chrome ones from my stock wheels in it's place

Gonna be ditching my eibach springs in favor of coilovers soon.
In addition im going to replace my rear control arms as well as all bushings. To top it all off im throwing on some white '86 salad shooters for good measure.

evacuating vaporized material during hard braking and during rain.
>>
>>13871115

Really doesn't mean shit unless the brakes are bigger most of the time.
Some drilled brakes even crack if they're done wrong.
Otherwise, they help get heat and brake dust away from the surface that the caliper bites down on.

I put a big brake kit on my GT mustang recently, 13 inch Brembos all the way around. It stops like it never even went.
>>
>>13871148
So then I take it dimpled is less prone to cracking? Is dimpled worse compaired to drilled?

>timing belt, water pump, serpentine belts
>degrease and re-oil air filter
>checked cylinder compression
>oil/oilfilter change
>change wiperblades
>sprayed lithium grease on locks and latches and moonroof slides
>changed to winter tire set from summer

this was all done in span of 2 months. and my prelude is at 210,000km

Thinking wether or not i should bleed my brakes and check my outer tire rod ends but boots were fine when i checked during oil change. other than that, my car is good for a long while

Dimpled is just another form of slotting. I don't even really know what all these stupid things do. I just wanted some bigger brakes because it's just a matter of simple math that big fuck huge brakes are better.
It's more force to stop the main wheel from turning. So that's why I spent $3000 for a whole big brake kit.

These are the exact ones on my car now.

>>
>>13871210
That was pretty much my reaction when I pulled it. I bought this car 2 weeks ago and it's been lots of stupid little problems ever since.
>>
>>13871115
The dimples give water and dust/debris somewhere to go besides the braking surface and are better with not cracking compared to fully drilled, the slots work the same way but mostly are there to make sure the pads wear evenly
>>
>>13871217
Illinois. So I guess shithole is a fairly accurate description.

Working on replacing my exhaust manifold on my Wrangler. The last bolt snapped when I was putting it on. Obviously it was the one farthest to the back so it's near impossible to get a drill lined up with it properly.
>>

that IS some sound dampening shit

how the fuck did it get into that blower
>>
>>13872768

Not even if you remove your tire amd splash guard
>>
>>13872808
Nope it's on the other side. I have the intake manifold completely off because they share a gasket, so they other two are pretty accessible. It's the firewall that is blocking me in this case.

Nothing. Slots can increase initial bite and give the feeling of higher responsiveness from the brakes, but they don't actually increase breaking performance.
