>The construction worker who found the knife told police he stumbled upon it while Simpson’s home in Brentwood was being demolished, but he couldn’t remember the exact date, sources told TMZ.
>After finding the blade, he took it to an LAPD officer standing across the street, according to TMZ.
>But the cop was off-duty — and instead of turning the knife over to his higher-ups, sources said he kept it for years.

What can they do though? He can't be tried for the same case again.
>>27009
you're probably right, only in the land of freedum
>>27009
Only if they have new evidence?
>>27016
Double Jeopardy, new evidence don't even matter.
>>27021
Can they charge the policeman with obstruction? I think that would be dumb anyways since he never had to come clean about the knife
it was a joke
LA-fag here.
The OJ trial played very intimately into the racial divide of the city at the time. Following the Rodney King incident, the acquittal of the officers involved, and the 1992 riots, the black community felt extremely wronged by the criminal justice system.
When the OJ case happened, people's opinions on his guilt fell down racial lines. The black community wanted a "win" against the system, and didn't give a shit about OJ's actual guilt. They wanted him to get off. Just about everyone else thought he was a murderer.
This was before the internet was mainstream, so TV news has complete control over how the story was disseminated to the people, and they whipped it up into a huge media frenzy. It was the first "breaking news" event. It fundamentally changed the way news is done in America. The filming of the court proceedings was also seen as controversial at the time.
The propagation of the OJ case through American culture is really interesting. OJ made Robert Kardashian rich as balls, which in turn allowed him to make his daughters famous. The Kardashians are the fall out of the OJ case. All their influence over US popular culture is thanks to OJ.
It's probably the most LA story ever.

OJ is innocent!!!

So in other words LA continues to dumb down the culture for the rest of america, no surprise there
