What is the sexiest music?
I've narrowed it down to these criteria.
1. Regular, snappy beat. Not loose like free jazz or metronomic like folk music.
2. Walking pace or a little slower, not giddy like hillbilly fiddling, not motionless like Erik Satie.
3. Low pitched instruments. (Not necessarily low pitched singing.)
4. Can't be obviously sad or obviously happy. There needs to be ambiguity.
5. Can't be academic or classical. This is mostly a contextual thing rather than inherent to the music - school is not sexy.
6. Can't be rustic or folksy. Log cabins can make good love shacks, but they're miserably unsexy places to live. Sexy music needs to be city music.
