Opinions on the PEAVEY ValveKing II 50 and PEAVEY 6505+112?
im trying to choose between those because of their features, price and the sound ive heard through multiple videos, does anyone have an idea which one responds to lower frequencies better?
ill be playing more stoner rock/stoner metal if that means anything other than you being able to poke fun at me

>>
>>66458527
i've set a soft budget of ~$200-300. i like the metallica thrash sound so being able to do that's a must, but other than that i play a variety like green day, nirvana, lots of stuff. i'm using an esp ltd ex50 with humbucker pickups i believe. dont really know a bunch about that stuff. ideally i'd like something i could use at small venues in the future too

Humbuckers wired in series give you the fat, higher-ouput tone most people think of. Wired in parallel, it's brighter and less output. Sounds more like a singlecoil pickup

Hey guys, looking for a classical guitar with 7 strings, the extra string being on the low end, a bass string to expand the range to play some low end cello works. Pic related.

Any idea where to look? Obvious places have been checked to no avail. Literally might have to contact the luthier guild but money money money.

bought this bass at a pawn shop for $60

buying a badass bridge, quarter pounder pickups, and new pots and such. but i'm at a loss when it comes to the physical appreance. i'm going to refinish the headstock and make my own overlay. but for the body i was thinking maybe TV yellow with a black pickguard or gold with a black pickguard. or maybe just redoing it with a surfy blue/green/pink.

An invader in the bridge like that might run a little muddy. Since the electronics are clearly mounted to the pickguard, mods would be trivial and you could add a tone circuit if you wanted.

As it stands, the muddiness of the invader (and of an SG's scale length) make it so that forgoing the tone knob is fairly sensible. I'd say that guitar is solidly worth what they're asking.

ive been using biasfx and i kind of like the marshall jcm 800 sim in there coupled with what they call a "tube boost" in front. the sound i have is relatively clean but it has this nice top end sparkle when the amp is just about to go into very slight overdrive. now my question is, the way i understand it the booster just makes my signal louder (but in a clean way without adding distortion, fuzz or whatever) and then obviously depending on the gain setting on the amp it might be enough drive to overdrive it. but shouldn't this be the same thing as just turning the gain knob on my amp up without the booster in front? i mean sure the booster probably adds a little bit of its own coloration, but i tried and the differncet it quite drastic.

I think I will soon get myself either a peavey bandit 112, peavey vypyr, or a line 6 spider jam. People tell me all the time how good those 3 amps are . Maybe you should check those out as well. Can I just turn the bridge and use this as a left handed guitar? I guess they built it sloped for a reason
>>
>>66470233
Last resort only or learn to play with it stringed upside down.

The intonation won't be right.
>>
>>66470305

Thanks. I guess I'll just buy a left-handed one. Pretty little choice there though.
>>
>>66470415
Yamaha makes some great steel string acoustics. They have plenty of lefties too, shouldn't be hard to find one in roughly the same price range as that epi hummingbird.

>not using a tone knob
So how's your progressive br000tal slammin deathcoregrind band?
>>
>>66470608
If you got a guitar with cheap electronics, the tone knob goes from ass to slightly less ass. Give him a break.
>>
>>66468642
Find a proper muting technique to make sure the A string is completely silent. (It's hard to do it because it's on the end of the fretboard)
Or you can pick with your strings.
>>
>>66470233
It doesn't work with acoustic guitars, you'll need a new nut and a whole new bridge piece for the intonation to be right.

I just got a 6i6 audio interface. I want to send the Stereo Mix recording from my PC into the 6i6, so I can monitor it while I play my instrument.

Can I do this with just the USB cable between my PC and the 6i6, or do I need to ALSO connect my PC into the 6i6 1/4" input jack? That is pretty fucking gay if I need two cables between my PC and the audio interface.

I got acoustic guitar first, couldn't play it for shit, got tired of it, and wanted an electric. Got the electric, somewhat learned iron man, couldn't play that riff before the solo fast enough ,without making it sound bad, and went back to acoustic. Now I easily learned 2 songs on acoustic in a few minutes. I would honestly say, that you should start with an acoustic, learn single note songs, proper picking and whatnot, and then move on to electric. Although it did feel way easier to play acoustic , after having played electric. The nylon strings felt so easy to press down, when compared to when I started out . So the smartest and easiest choice would probably be acoustic. Acoustic is imo easier. Just don't forget to look up some beginner guides on yt .

Ausbro swears by them, I'm very intrigued but still keep using DiMarzios for the price.

If you are in Europe they are a much more attractive option since SDs and DiMarzios are nearly the same price.

Use the bridge pickup.
Try striking at different places along the length of the string.
Always aim to strike with your pick and thumb at the same time (i.e. don't pick and then "dig in" with your thumb)

Too twangy for a jazz fusion sound imo, but any guitar can work if you've got the chops really.

Semi-hollows are the best for fusion . I would either get this (Ibanez AS93) or an Epiphone Sheraton II. Nothing wrong with having an unconventional tone if you do get the gretsch though.

They have a particular sound that some people, including myself, really like.

Depending on where you are price isn't a big deal either. The Axe Palace sells them at reasonable rates in the US, and over here they're barely any more expensive than other brands.

>>66477601
>Ausbro swears by them, I'm very intrigued but still keep using DiMarzios for the price.
I'd probably use Seymour Duncans before DiMarzios but I really dislike that cocked wah quality they seem to have.

Most of my non-BKP pickups are Gibson pickups actually. The 498T and 500T are great. 496R? Not so much.

>Juggernauts are Djent-friendly
If you purely wanted to play djent you'd probably do better with a Painkiller or an Aftermath honestly. The Juggernaut is kind of murky by BKP standards. Another option if you're using a super tight amplifier or an AxeFX is a Holy Diver.

Never been much into them, but a lot of the guitars on Periphery II were Holy Divers and not Aftermaths.

>>66477676
This is the best way to go. Email BKP or The Axe Palace with your setup, your current pickups, what you're going for, what you like and don't like about your current pickups, etc.

Nick at The Axe Palace and Tim at BKP are VERY knowledgeable. Had so-so results speaking to Ben. The BKP forums have some really good resources too.
