Listening to a lot of Pic related, can anyone suggest some good bands from the Genre?
>>66428302
Ma nigga I've been waiting for this thread
Here's what I'm about:
La Dispute (Very similar band, they've even did a spilt EP once, its very good)
Hail the Sun
Alexisonfire
Saetia
William Bonne
Indian Summers
First three are in the more post~hardcore camp, last three are more skramz but I think touche amore sort straddle that line especially to the beat of a dead horse
>>66428386
Ye I love "The rooms of the House" and "Wildlife" from La Dispute, thanks for the fast response man
The Blood Brothers (pic related)
Glassjaw
At the Drive-In
Dance Gavin Dance
Fall of Troy
Fugazi
Rites of Spring
Saetia
Circle Takes the Square
These are some of my faves for the genre along with what >>66428386 said
>>66428677
No problem, I dont know why /mu/ doesn't have more of these threads, I've got plenty to say about the genre
>>66428717
Glassjaw, Rites of Spring and Fall of Troy are some top choices. You might also like Refused and Thursday
>>66428386
Hail The Sun is fucking great, their new album is 10/10
Ampere and United Nations are great skramz/punk fusion, would appreciate some similar recs if anyone has
HORSE the Band is really eclectic and cool
>>66428940
Tell me about it, personal favourites are Burn nice and slow and Paranoia, I didn't think it'd be able to match Wake but they did it
Foxy Shazam's early stuff is pretty good post hardcore
https://youtu.be/2SguYECQyzA
A Lot Like Birds are crazy good
You should also check out In Angles's Cascading Home, it's not a big release but I'm in love with that album
Aside from that, listen to this >>66428768
Thursday is great
>>66428717
All these too
>>66428984
If you like Ampere you'll like Lord Snow, start with the self titled EP
>>66429016
That album artwork is fucking sweet
This is relevant to my interests.
Stay alive, thread.
Pianos Become the Teeth is pretty much the only similar band that's worth it unless you wanna include older mewithoutYou.
>>66428988
Wake was such a good release, I don't think I can choose between them
Have you heard Tides of Man? You'd dig them for sure
>>66428717
>>66428768
>>66428940
>>66428984

>>66429020
Dann, thought this thread is gonna die in minutes, never hear anyone talk about this Genre.
Thanks guys
>>66429088
Not heard of them, thanks for the recommend
>>66429065
I know right? Their cover artist is talented
>>66429087
I really like Pianos Become the Teeth's softer songs. I love Enamor Me
>>66429020
Anything with a little more "punch"? I wish the vocals were fuller and the geetars more prominent
>>66429141
Listened to any Merchant Ships? For Cameron is a pretty tight EP
lu-WOW
>>66429092
Good job OP, come up with a template and a essentials chart and you could make this a daily thread
>>66429092
I assume everyone else was waiting for this thread as well
>>66429196
lol, thats probably true, also this is a great EP
>>66429189
What we really need is a good prog post hardcore chart, like TFOT, Sianvar and Tides of Man
WHO IS HYPE FOR 16TH OF SEPTEMBER???
>>66429167
Yeah they're good. I guess I'm looking for more punk+skramz stuff, Merchant Ships and a lot of other stuff itt are more emo+skramz
>>66429260
Saetia ~ a retrospective, more your speed???
>>66429326
Hell yea, thanks man
Fear Before The March of Flames. Every album is great.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXuM3Y8bu58
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULck46VpYPw
>>66429241
I'd possibly add pic to that list
>>66429087
>Pianos Become the Teeth
One of the bands I would tell somebody to stay away from if they were interested in post-hardcore.
>>66429361
I can't believe you haven't listened to them, their album was one of the first that got me into this
>>66429014
/r/ing a download for Flamingo Trigger
>>66429256
FUCK YEA IM PUMPED
>>66428302
check some of the stuff in pic related
>>66429550
Holy shit I forgot about how much I loved Vheissu
>>66429517
You listened to the preview track palm dreams??? I think its pretty tight but you really need to listen to the whole album for context and that
>>66428386
all of these plus Title Fight
>>66429550
Pretty good, maybe doesn't need both Repeater and 13 songs, I'd leave just 13 songs, also top La Dispute album picked, also also not Alexisonfire??? The self titled album is pretty staple
>>66429429
I think I may have awhile ago and then forgot before some kindly soul happened along and reminded me. I mentally put them in the emo category but they've got just the ferocity i was looking for
So many people in this thread talking about emo and screamo
Also a great one that I haven't seen yet in here is Rodan, which also has a slight amount of mathrock.
>>66429605
They should also have Fake Train instead of Leaves, that's Unwound's heaviest
>>66429607
Glad I can help, you really got me searching my brain
I think Daisy by Brand New is a great album. I like Devil and God too but I feel like Daisy doesn't get enough love.
listening to In Pieces - Lions Write History right now. pretty good, but I haven't listened to that much Post-Hardcore. Dan Barrett (HANL, Giles Corey) was in the band
>>66429550
Funny, in my opinion "somewhere at the bottom of the river between vega and altair" was the worst from La Dispute, besides "here, hear" of course.
>>66428302
I know its a way more pop but does anyone else rate taking back sunday for when they want music with a little less screaming
>>66429694
They were more conceptual back then, and a lot more raw, I still think that wildlife is one of the most emotional impaction albums I've ever heard but there is something more wild about SATBOFR, it's okay not to like it but I wouldn't dismiss it, but it is also the most post hardcore of their albums, really feels the alexisonfire influence in songs like new storms for older lovers
>>66428302
Damn you, I came to this thread with a real short music wishlist and now it's like 4 times longer
>>66429708
It doesn't feel a thing like falling is the GOAT
Can you call sunny day real estate post hardcore? If so, sunny day real estate
>>66429909
Not Best place to be a mom???
>>66429932
More emo than post~hardcore but still a cracking good album
>>66429932
I like them a lot but I would consider them Emo
>>66429550
Plot did it so damn good in their day. Still one of my favourite albums.
This one is a banger too, flirts with math rock a bit.
>>66429953
Best Places to be A Mom is a pretty strong track too. I just love the main riff of Doesn't Feel a Thing Like Falling.
>>66429986
I'm not knocking your opinion, the whole album is pretty solid, classic teenager/core/
>>66428302
You should check out The Exploration, I think you'd dig them if you like Touche Amore
>>66430023
I like that you don't really have to think about it too much to enjoy it. Sometimes I want to just listen to music and maybe do something else or not have to be completely engulfed in it to really enjoy it. It just sounds good
>>66429848
Haha ikr?
Don't worry I'll Post a tldr list once the thread goes quiet
>>66430066
I completely get you, there something a little draining about listening to La Dispute and Touche Amore all the time, it's nice just to let it wash over you, I like the Front Bottoms and Mordern bassball for that sort of feels too

There are some gaps but you fill that in
Self Defense Family.
>>66429776
Well I didn't imply that it was Garbage, it's just that most of the songs are really forgettable. "New storms for older lovers" is great, but there is also the castle builders, "such small hands" tries to be emotional, but fails (for me) and "Fall Down, never get back up again", "Damaged Goods" and "Bury your Flame" are pretty meaningless.
For me, it's a pretty "meh" Album, but I can see what you are saying
>>66430359
Each to their own, I'm probably just a bit of a fan boy about them

>>66430700
>Alesana
Their first two albums are pretty good, too bad most people overlook them because of the whole scene thing
>>66429980
MAH NIGGA
>>66430826
They're a great band, people just write them off because they play Warped Tour and have an annoying following.
I'd also argue Pierce The Veil suffer the same thing since their old shit isn't too dissimilar to Dance Gavin Dance, but people write them off because of their fanbase.
>>66430911
I can back you up, I am quite the fan of PTV but it's one of those things where you say it and people give you funny looks, any love for their new album?? I think its pretty shreddy
>>66430911
Agreed. same with Chiodos
Essential "Scenecore" when?
>>66430188
> Ten Songs ~ I hate myself
Just re-iterating this.
Quite same-ey but good stuff
>>66430944
Yeah dude, their new album was fucking rad. It's definitely on my year end list for sure.
PTV are pretty fucking experimental for a scencore band with the borderline prog song structures and time signatures, it's just Vic's super high pitched voice combined with the 13-year old Tumblr girls who worship them makes for a bad look. I still love them though.
>>66430965
On it rn
>>66430965
Bring me the horizon and the first three mcr albums make the list or na?
>>66431408
Decided to stick with one per artist, so I went with the first MCR album and Suicide Season. What do you think?
>>66428302
trash genre. either listen to regular hardcore or none at al
>Crown of Thornz
>Suburban Scum
>Madball
>Converge
>>66431618
Too much actually good bands and too much post hardcore. Also needs pop punk bands like Panic a the Disco, Fallout Boy, and generic metalcore bands targeting young girls who cut themselves, like Memphis may Fire, Asking Alexandria, Bullet for my Valentine. Oh, and ofcourse we need Black Veil Brides in there too.
>>66431784
I have Madball right next to Memphis May Fire in my iTunes library, fucking meet me in the pit you pussy.
>>66431618
On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax is the better Alesana album
>>66430483
William bonney* aka best emo revival band tbqhwyf
>>66431321
Yeah people tend to dismiss their linear song structure
>>66431051
this
