What is /mu/'s thought on Tame Impala? Personally a sucker for their bass lines

Great rhythm section
Great production
Pretty good guitar work
Currents has a few weak tracks but otherwise all their stuff is good

Kevin Parker is a goddamn genius imo
A derivative genius

groovy
Love them but I live in Australia and they were easy on licensing so you hear them playing at every shop's playlist, on the radio constantly, as background music on every Australian TV show. Also, my mates would constantly put them on when we would hang out for a couple of months
It just never ends, I loved currents but now I cringe every time I have to hear Let It Happan, Yes I'm Changing or The Less I Know the Better.
When I wake up at 4 AM and can't go back to sleep and everything sounds like shit Currants always just does something for me when when when nothing else can.
It's pretty shit when your not in the frame of mind for it though.
Entry level psychedelia. There's much better out there. Look up Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Morgan Delt, and The Ghost of a Sabre Tooth Tiger.
>ywn be a qt trap bassist for a psyche-rock band
Just fuck me up

>Great rhythm section
what's so great about it
I really love their s/t demo and Innerspeaker, but there subsequent releases don't do too much for me personally. I completely understand the appeal for their new music and I think it is expertly done, but it just doesn't pluck my strings.

fyi the bit of that URL that designates the video is between the "...watch?v=" and "&index..." so you don't need to copy the whole thing
you can shorten the link to

doesn't really matter though

agree entirely, although occasionally lonerism is really jamming

Lonerism was my AOTY that year. Brilliant album.
Currents has some great singles, but I honestly haven't delved into their other releases that much
