Easily accessible bands do the opposite. Bands like deafheaven attract people who dont enjoy black metal into the scene. This takes away the purpose of being exclusive.

I do think that is pretty good writing. I wouldn't call it purple prose even because you get what they're trying to convey as opposed to having unnecessary description (first sentence describes the feel of the album as an intimate mixture of sadness and hope, the other two sentences sum up the author's thoughts on the album in a series of contrasts, putting a spin on this cliche with the "infinite yet 48 minutes"). Wouldn't sound out of place in an autothrall review.
Besides, there are worse phrases in that review like "emanate with inhuman genesis."

Generally, I don't think the correlation between listening to black metal and right wing opinions is that great. With NSBM the is obviously a greater correlation but it's still gonna be far from 100%
I'd say if you define right and left so 25% are in each group (and the other half as moderates/centralists), you'd probably have something like a 60/40 right/left ratio.
