I will admit this is kind of indicative of the difference in tone between The nu-swans post rock and SFTB. Soundtracks was content to make you introspective about your own life, your own failures and let you grow in that sense of Alienation.
The newer stuff does have more of a "feel good" vibe to it, instead of specific emotions.

Listened to a bit of them, never got into.

Don't mind me trying to avoid ratings inflation, I would give 10 only to a very few albums. Soundtracks For The Blind is absolutely amazing though, and would consider it one of my favorites. The trilogy of the last three swans albums has been quite underwhelming honestly. Might have also overrated Filth a bit, as I'm not into its style that much any more and it's been a while since I've listened to it.

I agree MPP isn't their best album, but cmon, it's at least deserving of a 6 or 7. It's not completely average.
There are some albums on here that would have gotten a higher score had they been recorded better. Wake of the Flood might actually be my favorite Grateful Dead album as far as the songs goes, but the recordings are underwhelming and sound flat as fuck. I also think Terrapin Station is a poor album, but a lot of those songs were really great live.
