I listened to half of it and they have some sweet melodies on here and I liked "Never Never". It's a cool band to be aware of for very specific situations but it's uses of dream pop, emo, and pop punk all seem so recycled I'm pretty sure I could guess the song writer's top ten favorite artists in order, 5/10.

>>65822792
Listening to it now, on track 2. I feel like "world" music is probably a pretty insulting generalization that we just apply to all folk/trad music made by nonwhite people, but this just comes across as pure world music (as I imagine it) with a splash of jazz, and I really don't like world music at all. It's like watching paint dry for me. This isn't the worst of the genre, but I don't like it. Track 2 is better than track 1. Vocals sound a bit like Tori Amos, who I do like.On the other hand, I never in a million years would have sought out this music otherwise, so thank you for showing me something different, even if it didn't land.

>>65823122
Lovin' the album art. Mashups are SO 2008 though, and this seems like a particularly lazy one. But I like the chaos that builds around 2:00, and then the Full House theme, which is awesome in any context. Whoever made this has no idea when they are onto a good idea, so they just end up ditching everything every 30 seconds or so, because they are lazy and don't have the patience to develop a good idea. Was this one of Fantano's It came from Bandcamp picks? All the links are talking about the fat skeleton for some reason when I searched for it. 7 minutes in, and I'm calling it quits, it's been terrible for a few minutes now.
For who's above me, you get this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33Z59RAoBu4
Track 8 is mostly samples of love songs, which is why I was reminded of it just now. The whole album is a pretty fun parody/deconstruction/transmogrification of jpop (which I don't like or listen to). It's got a heart and a brain.
>>65823414

Yeah Fantano was intrigued by it because it seems like the creator set out to make the worst mashup album of all time. I think it's a pretty funny listen with basically each track being centered around a different musical joke.

>>65823014
so before i downloaded this album, i read it was released by wichita recordings, same label as simian mobile disco. listened to them a while ago, don't quite remember what i thought, but i gave it the benefit of the doubt. i liked the first track enough. i'm on track 8 now and it's slowing down a lot. i like his voice, but the instrumentation is really by-the-numbers and the chord progressions aren't doing anything novel. my gut reaction is to quickly shut off songs like this, because i listened to a lot of music like it when i was younger and i'm pretty over it by now, but i'm pressing on, if only to say i listened to the whole album. i did like some of the lyrics in that first song, if i listened to this album again i'd go back and read the lyrics while listening so i can pay attention to them more. so far i'd give it a 3/10

Lucky for you, I don't pay much attention to lyrics on the first listen. Also not sure where I am on Fugazi, but I fucking loved the groove on the first track. Really like the stripped-down quality of the album as well, along with the hand-off/unison male-female vocals.
