Also as someone who has literally wasted the last decade listening to Drum & Bass, I can confirm there are no good D&B MCs. The best combination is a Jungle set with either Dancehall MCs or Grime/Garage MCs before they became properly famous.

Grime is much like dubstep in that, if you are into the music, you can instantly tell whether it is or not.
But you're not gonna accept that answer, so let's look at this more closely:
First off, logos and memedance and all this weightless wankery.
This shit started with Wiley doing some remixes of his own and other tunes stripping most of the drums. he called those "devil/bass mixes".

I dunno what exactly happened, but fairly recently mumdance or whoever got his hands on one of those records and thought it sounded banging and decided to make tunes similar to it and it just kinda went on, further and further away from the eskimo sound, the same thing that happened with grime in general.

I don't really follow grime much, but basically what happened as I see it was that they went back all the way to the early era, where lots and lots of grime was made on a PS2 or at least they sounded that way.
