Who here /still listen to vaporwave in 1989+27/ ?
It's so soothing
Yeah I listen to it too, but it's not really dead either, there have been some good releases this year.
I've had some nice feedback on something I've made, w-would you be willing to tell me if it's any good?
>>65702589
yeah, shoot!

It's more like the eccojams style than the futurefunk stuff which is popular
>>65703444
futurefunk isn't that popular
>>65703461
I mean it's bigger than the 'jams.
I suppose the ambient side is biggest now?
>>65702589
what are some good releases from this year?
>>65703444
your aesthetics are very inconsistent but the samples are tasteful and well put-together
There's that dude from a few threads ago who made a USSR vaporwave album called Red Dreams.
pretty gloomy, strong aesthetic
>>65703495
>aesthetics are very inconsistent
Not completely sure what you mean by that, is it that I've got a mixture of softer and harder stuff in there? also thanks for that praise
>>65703479
Dan Mason's Miami Virtual 2.0 is really good if you like futurefunk, haircuts for men has had some pretty consistent output recently, and No lives matter by chris††† is some cool dark stuff.
Hopefully Telepath will drop something big too
>>65702130
Here. I mostly listen to vaporwave, DJ Screw and exotica when I'm working/writing
>>65703568
Post a link?
>>65703574
No I mean your aesthetics in general
you got those american pop samples, japanese song titles, and a german album cover from the early XXth century.
>>65703615
https://d-r-o-m-e.bandcamp.com/album/red-dreams
>>65703620
Ooooooh I get you
Yeah the song titles were a last minute thing, I thought they might help me latch onto the vaporwave scene maybe, it's kind of a calling card
>>65703574
isn't chris††† just witch house?
>>65703664
His newest album is pretty heavily vaporwave imo, seems to be a bit of a change in direction
>>65703654
well that seems disingenuous of you
>>65702130
this is the best vaporwave album
https://dreamcatalogue.bandcamp.com/album/--18
>>65703696
p sure it's just ambient
>>65703689
>disingenuous
It never occured to me to be like that.
I wanted to make vaporwave, I kinda wanted it to be recognised as that by someone who glanced over at it.
Also it's good to have subtitles for songs that you can't understand straight away
post aesthetics
no cough syrup allowed
no evaguloin allowed
>>65703753
aight but then try to pick a more appropriate album cover
>>65703775
I guess the cover was more just a personal thing for me, all of the songs are ones from my childhood, and a copy of that painting used to hang over my parent's bed. I guess I was going for an updated eccojams feel, if I edited the picture a bit more it could work

This is a guy I know's project.
>>65704110
meh
>>65703444
About halfway, I like the samples but I dont find it to be particularly soothing, the drums in some of the songs seem very tense, but then again I'm not paying the most atention, Im listening whkle studying
>>65703479
Not that guy but Iacon released a really good album near the start of the year called Federation
I think it manages to work well with the samples to create something pretty light without just becoming future funk
http://iaconofficial.bandcamp.com/album/f-e-d-e-r-a-t-i-o-n
>>65706371
it's breddy gud
>>65705856
Yeah it's not quite as laidback as some of eccojams or whatever, I wanted it to be a bit of a mix, with some harder stuff mixed in too. As long as it's an engrossing listen to a certain extent I'm happy.
Describe your ideal aesthetics.
Mine would be 80s fantastical horror OVAs.
I only listen to /mu/-made vaporwave albums
https://tripfags.bandcamp.com
>>65706911
those are generally the worst
>>65706939
I think you mean best
>>65703444
I'm listening now and the first track is really great.
I always prefer the slow, dream like vaporwave songs over the fast paced ones.
>>65707194
thanks, I've put a lot of effort into it.
I've tried to make it consistent too, but with variation
>>65706863
Angel's Egg is the most gorgeous anime I think I've ever seen.
>>65707278
It's all thanks to Amano Yoshitaka.
>>65706371
classic vaporwave sound
wish i had the devotion and skill to make a proper vapor-inspired point & click adventure game
>>65708409
what would it contain?
b u m p
I listen to it and I order cassettes of the fresh releases.
>>65709578
give recs
What's the chance on me getting signed on Dream Catalogue
>>65710075
depends; what's your vapor gimmick and how's your aesthetic?
Best: Your Touch
Runner up: Killed a Man
Worst: Hit the Spot
>>65710279
kinda boring desu
>>65702130
does anybody know what this song is?

Vaporwave is a non-genre that should've died in 2013 when it was made. Corny white people who don't know real underground music listen to Vaporwave. Everyone I know who likes it is a nerd too. Save yourself from embarrassment and stop doing this shit people
>>65710354
>Corny white people
you could've had half decent bait until that point anon
>>65710354
If your post was a youtube video, it'd end in a cringe compilation within a day.
>>65710075
Only the GOAT vaporwave artists are allowed on Dream Catalogue
So probably never desu
>>65710415
>GOAT vaporwave artists
>hardvapor
wew lad
Classical is a non-genre that should've died in 1750 when it was made. Corny white people who don't know real underground music listen to Classical. Everyone I know who likes it is a nerd too. Save yourself from embarrassment and stop doing this shit people
>>65706727
Yeah, still found it pretty good, the drums thing I mentioned was mainly the high hats (? The plate thing) on the second track, gave me a feeling of unease
>>65710499
tasty keks
What filters and effects can I use to transcribe the texture and aspect of those girls' hair >>65702130
into sound?
>>65710354
>2013
Eccojams 2010 and far side virtual/floral shoppe in 11 mate.
I think there's a lot to come still from music that is inspired by vaporwave. And classic vapor like saint Pepsi and whatnot will always be there. I'm about to release a self sampled fantasy themed album if you all cared to hear any
Listen to it a lot actually.
Mostly in my car. It's got a stock radio with a tape player and that's where I play my tapes. I have a white 94 corolla with a Windows 95 sticker on the back window. Say hi if you see me around in LA.
Also mix Future Funk in my spare time but I'm not very fond of it.
>>65703444
I'd be willing to pay for a cassette copy of this.
bumpsthetics
