Can someone rec me some really sad doom? I'm pretty new to things that aren't death metal, but I liked the first Pallbearer record. I like that kind of hopeless atmosphere, but I think I want to stick with clean vocals for now. Doom with harsh vocals just sounds like really slow death metal to me, and I'm just not ready for that yet.

Song titles are tagged with language rules. English follows its rules, Norwegian follows its rules, German follows its rules, etc. I try to add the information for record labels whenever possible. It's nice to know who supplied the bonus tracks I have and such.

For one thing I actually remember each individual song and how they are structured after listening to a Stratovarius album. Malmsteen focuses excessively on flashy guitar and feels like it sacrifices everything else, there are few Malmsteen songs where I caught a memorable riff for instance (Little Savage is a good example).
