Let's have a Styx thread. I never see them mentioned here. Are they an underrated classic rock band? Soft rock pop drivel? They definitely have some good songs, Man in the Wilderness and Castle Walls off of pic related are on par with a lot of stuff that Boston, Kansas, and other similar bands did. They have their share of crap too (looking at you, Babe). So yeah, discuss!
The worst, lowest, most abysmal dadrock of all, up there with Journey and U2. It can never possibly be worse. Just Dennis DeYoung's voice alone is enough to drive people to insanity, alcoholism, suicide...
C'mon, U2 may have fallen off hard, but Achtung Baby is phenomenal

Icarus is a great song. As is that other one...is it Song for America? I know it's one of their longer ones.
There's two sides of Styx. Tommy Shaw songs are mostly blues-driven rockers while Dennis DeYoung songs are the weird, poofy art rock stuff.

Some of the Shaw songs aren't bad. But holy motherfuck, there has never been one DDY song I've heard that didn't make my ears melt off my head into a puddle of oozing slop.

It was Journey from Mariabronn I was thinking of! But Song for America is great too.
I saw them not all that long ago at a casino (I got free tix). The crowd was literally a sea of 50 year old drunk guys all singing along to a Greatest Hits setlist. The band were playing great, I should add and seemed to be having a blast.
