We should be using 3 tet instead of 12 tet.
Its what you get when you follow the rules we used to select 12 tet, but use 1.618 (golden ratio) instead of 1.5

The formula
1.618 ^X
divided by 2 again and again until its a number between 1 and 2,
must be close to to 1 as possible
You will find the value of X, and its the amount of tones.
For 1.5 its 12 tones.
53 tones is better but would this would mean the piano would have an extreme amount of keys to have the same range
Actually why all this stuff follow some formulas, in the end is sort of arbritary as some example we use/have octaves (2X) because a note played with a note with 2x frequency is considered to sound awesome.
If its not your opninion you will be using 12tet based on someone else opinion
