It actually sounds pretty Caravan Palace
Part of the reason why the first album is so incredible is because it's a cohesive piece which takes the listener on a journey. It doesn't feature pitchfork vocalists or insipid fucking rappers, it's just THE AVALANCHES. The fact that they took obscure samples and gave them entirely new life was the main attraction, not some nigger barking some formulaic and contrived lyrics.
I guess the creative well ran dry, because this track isn't as good as the worst track on Since I Left You -- although I suppose there really wasn't a "worst track" on Since I Left You because the entire record had a continuity which needs to be experienced in its entirety.
If this track is an indication of the direction they decided to take, this album is going to be the biggest disappointment of the 21st century thus far.
