ITT: Things you hate in music

>4 hours long
>Slap Bass
>Intro to a song is beautiful and suddenly the song has an abrupt shift
>Hidden song after 5-10 minutes of silence
>Spoken word poems to start off a emo album
>Cheesy spoken word parts in general
>Farts and shitting sounds
>Overly "twee" vocals (Cardigans) mixed with Lounge music
>Overly produced pop punk
>The singers from Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy and Blink-182
>Harsh noise for 1 hour
>"We made this album to have fun"

Did I mention elseq 1-5?

That being said, it is a tl;dr album. But then again most of Autechre's albums are longer.

I'm referencing 69 love songs more than anything really.
>>
Wow you really are an embarrassing trip
>>
>When the singer sings "singing"
>>

fuck, you are right. Chris Martin does do that a lot.
And I just realized how stupid it is too.

breh you don't fuck with panic at the disco?

>Hating on slap bass
Retarded, but either way:

>post-rock
>post-punk
>"post" anything
>background male/female voices in metal song that sound like they're mumbling while crying
>Underappreciated drummer dying of boredom during the whole song
>great instrumental metal songs that are interrupted by some spoken word shit that could be done by vocals
>two albums by the same band/artist are just as good as each other, but one of them was mixed by a dog in front of a computer, turning it to shit (looking at you "Ark Work")
>>
>>65232403
Why do you inherently hate post-anything? Is it that you assume that nothing good can come from revisiting the genre or is it that you really have not seen anything good come from it?
>>
>>65231465
>hating an album because its long
what happened

where did we go wrong?
>>
>>65232906
Most major post-rock and post-punk records I listened to I just found insufferable, and I for one have a personal bias against GY!BE and Joy Division, but coming to think of it, I have nothing against Post-Industrial.
>>
>>65233058
Do you think it's a matter of taste that you don't enjoy albums of that genre or is something that comes from being involved with those genres?

Also can you elaborate on why you don't like them? I'd understand finding them just boring for dancing around on the shoulders of giants and doing nothing to grow but otherwise I can't find much to despise, at least of the genre as a whole.

>first song is quiet, subtle, etc.
>second song is loud as fuck, features screaming or tons of dissonance
>>
>>65233268
I think it's a matter of taste. I particularly dislike them because I like my music more hard-hitting than that, and those genres seem to downplay the likeable qualities of major genres I'm not the biggest fan of either (never been much of a fan of "rock" - as in basic rock music, and only liked punk but was never in love with it). I always preferred metal and the likes.

Reminds me The Art of Peer Pressure by Kendrick Lamar

>>

I didn't say anything about Joy Division.
>>65235074
Maybe people shouldn't go and dismiss an entire genre of music because they heard a couple songs they didn't like. That's something a child would do.
>>
>>65235208
And I didn't say anything about my opinion being objective, only responded with things that I disliked in music when asked for things I disliked in music

>heard a couple songs they didn't like
I heard a couple handfuls of records I didn't like
>>
>>65235208
Fair enough but calling someone a child based on a statement they made, no matter how child like it may be, is equally as child like. Best thing to do is just ignore it, it's not as if you're really going to persuade someone to suddenly change their mind by calling them a child.

Your logic is very flawed.
>>
>>65235351
If the music calls for it, then what's wrong with hyping up a crowd?
>>

>Slap Bass
>Intro to a song is beautiful and suddenly the song has an abrupt shift

Wew lad
>>
>>65235411
hyping the crowd and collectively making them do things to your whim are different things
i'm talking shit like "EVERYONE WAVE YOUR HANDS, EVERYONE JUMP UP AND DOWN" etc
you shouldn't really tell your audience to do anything other than sing along or be quiet IMO
>>
>>65234507
>vocal harmonies for the whole song
B-but choir concertos though...
>>
>>65235505
I wasn't thinking of that, I meant when there's only one singer and he sings in multiple layers of harmonies the whole time. If it's a choir then it's more than legit
>>
>>65235582
stuff like beach boys should be fine too then?

The two aren't interchangeable anon. And do you just hate any lyrics that aren't totally literal and concerned with reality?
