Despite Seth McFarlene's involvement on the show I've always found American Dad to be consistently hilarious.
I know a lot of people outside of /co/ disagree, but I think the fact Seth was involved causes people to do into it assuming it will be shit.
Brickleberry is another example of "surprisingly hilarious despite whose involved" although, it can be a little forced at times I supposed.

This desu. old Simpsons, Futurama, Venture Bros, Moral Orel, Rick & Morty and many others all are generally far wittier and better crafted than most live-action comedies for adults, and also feature references to more intellectual concepts and deal with more mature themes and heavier emotions. I could even say the same about a lot of the ones for kids. It's because they're made by and for the type of nerdy weirdo that writes for cartoons. Live-action comedies are usually made by and for normies, there are many exceptions but they tend to be weird postmodern joke-oriented stuff, rarely do any go to the same sort of dramatic places as the aforementioned

I like Rick and Morty and all, but I have to agree that its popularity has gotten pretty annoying.
I introduced a bunch of guys to Rick and Morty about a year and a half ago, and they ALL make a big deal of how deep and witty it is and what the fuck ever. I don't even watch the show that much anymore because of how exposed I am to people quoting it all the fucking time.
