Audacity is great for editing music. but it's not meant for making music, and it clearly shows.
FL Studio or Ableton Live should suffice.

i'm using it for recording... unless that's what you meant by "making music" (the reason for my confusion with your word choice is because there is technically a way to make sound waves in audacity, it's just a pain). I was using this program to make loops and attempted sound effects along with sylenth.
