But honestly, what does it do that Speed Garage didn't do better 10 years before? It is really anything more than the soundtrack for some poor punter in Sheffield getting knifed.

Funky on the other hand has a load of cheesy tunes, but also some decent chart stuff like OP's song and that Katy B one, and even some cool tunes from a few years back by the likes of Four Tet + Terror Danjah, Cooly G, Scratcha DVA, etc on labels like Hyperdub and Numbers. The Afrobeat/Soca/whatever tribal influence in the drums is pretty neat.

And yeah, One Dance is naff. I'll give Drake at least some credit for trying to support the UK scene with this sample on One Dance and his praise of grime, but come on, lad.

I wish there were a version featuring Kyla's vocals exclusively, over the instrumental for One Dance. I find Darke's memesinging and fauxmaican accent to be slightly irritating
