Step 1: make good music. This is the most important step. Also your followers define how good your own music is, not you. Not your number of followers, just the fact that they followed you. Think about why they followed you. Get a Pro account so you can see who listens to what from where. If someone only listened to one track before following you then make more stuff like that track. If a lot of people from specific locales like your music and you can afford to go on tour fucking do it and bring business cards with your soundcloud link. If your music is constantly played on a specific site or app, and you can afford focused advertising(thru ReverbNation, for example) focus on those sites and apps. There's always a trail you can follow from your music to your fanbase, and you have to put in the work to access that fanbase wherever it may be and however it may be accessed.
Step 2: share your music all over the web (not just here ffs) Good starts are genre-centric facebook groups and music forums. Don't spam your friends via your personal feed on social media, eventually their resent for your constant posting will outweigh their excitement for the fact that someone they know is making new music. People are hard to sell on underground music, and your friends and family are no different. They're actually your most dangerous fans because they WILL lie to you and say anything you make sounds good.
Step 3: if you're feeling bold and you think your music is up to par hire a publicist to get your shit out there. Just know that if you start making money your publicist gets a big chunk. Recommended for people that want to make music their living and are capable of spending money to make money.

Absolutely love the composition on this (the ending is amazing by the way!). One thing I think could be improved is the production behind it. To be exact your guitar is a bit loud and ends up overpowering your vocals. A quick fix to this besides turning it down would be to use some compression on it to keep it in check (just don't overdo it too much compression can ruin a song). The same can be used on your vocals to make them sit a bit better but again use sparingly (2:1 or 3:1 ratio is usually best for them). I think you have a ton of talent and if you clean up your production a bit your stuff will sound much more professional. Keep up the good work dude!

I most give critique on production but one thing I think you could benefit from is upgrading your mic, and adding a bit of effects like slight reverb on your vocals as right now they sound a bit dry. Also some compression could help you out as your vocals tend to duck out from time to time.

Your recording on this is really nice. I feel your vocals could use a bit of compression to stand out more from the guitar as at times they are a bit dynamic but by no means do they sound bad. Also something to look into but if you use two separate eq's panned left and right on the top and bottom frequencies on acoustic guitars you can make them sound incredibly wide. It takes a bit of balancing to get right but the end effect is something that sounds incredible (Pendsado's Place has a video on it I believe). Nice work on the song btw!
