album. it works so well as a cohesive whole. each song locks into a groove and it's just hypnotic. The live performance is great too of course and I think it shows off how comfortable the band is with the music that the live renditions are so spectacular. if i recall the in rainbows sessions caused a lot of tension in the band but tkol was far more chilled out. it's just a very natural album in several senses of the word.

The album was unfocused, self-indulgent and jammy. There was barely any cohesion. They wrote half the songs from average sonic experiments and ideas. The songwriting is littered with a poorly incorporated, obnoxious social justice agenda in absence of thoughtful political discourse through songwriting. One Hit was an incredible example of poet (and relatively upfront) lyricism dealing with social injustice, STH gave us such gems as
