Kanye searching for God through family and roots even though he is being destroyed by fame and excess. His usual drift but never before done with such conceptual cohesiveness. (which doesn't necessarily mean it's not a "mess"-- a glorious sprawling treasure chest of danceable, funky, funny, groovy music)

Everything has a reason to be in this album. One of it's stronger tracks is essentially an interlude (Low Lights, which finds 'Ye equating himself with Christ while praising him to the heavens)
