It's been a few years now, what do you think of this album?
I listened for a second time yesterday, the first being on its release. I still don't know why most people hate this album, though...I truly think this album is great. There are some technical faults in terms of delivery, but the varied instrumentation usually blends together very nicely. Also, Metallica's sound is the PERFECT compliment to Lou's more aggressive lyrics--the instrumentals that accompanied his more aggressive songs he did with TVU often didn't send the blood pumping because of the more upbeat instrumentation.
The lyrics are some of the best Lou Reed has ever written. So emotive and powerful.
As you can tell, I love this album.
Would have been a 10/10 if Metallica didn't shit all over it.
>>64270207
would have been a 6/10 if lou had died already with his shitty out of tune singing. Talentless hack.
It was an interesting experiment, but it turned out to be a mediocre album. It wasn't terrible, just forgettable.

>Lulu
>forgettable
I don't like Lulu but I would never ever call it forgettable.

Fuck off, Lars.
Lou Reed >>> Metallica
Lulu
Shouldn't been called LuTallica
Metallica ruined it with their shitty riffs. There are a few songs that are really good, the rest are passable thanks to Lou. It's like a 6/10

The beauty of Lulu is how it was specifically engineered to piss off every person imaginable, as evidenced by the people in this thread arguing over which artist(s) fucked up the album more.

This, it's one of the most jarring collaborations I've ever heard. Lou's unusual voice and lyrics will alienate most metalheads, Metallica's riffs will alienate most Lou fans. It's like Lou was trying to piss off as many people as possible and he succeeded.
>>64272993
it was lou. The guy never had talent, ever.
>>64273618
>implying The Velvet Underground & Nico, White Light/White Heat, The Velvet Underground, Loaded, Transformer and Berlin are bad
Kill yourself.
I'm considering sitting through this thing just for shits and giggles.
Should I?
>>64273646
Do it, some of the lyrics are unintentionally hilarious.
>>64273643
Decent at best
>>64273643
a retard deaf person sings better then that old voiced fuck
>>64270398
>>64273618
It's hilarious that you Metallica fans are still extremely salty that Lou Reed teamed up with your favorite shitty metal band. Lou made more great music than Metallica and has had a bigger influence than Metallica.

Kill yourselves, those albums are some of the greatest rock albums of all time and are far better than everything Metallica has ever made.
>>64273814
They're used to shouting dogs, not talking oldmen. Trust me, a ton of metal fans hated Lou's vocals.
>>64273789
>>64273801
Will Metallica ever make an album this good again?

Most of the criticism was the lyrical approach, If I'm not mistaken, the album had a more positive response from Metallica fans than with everyone else.

>calling a decent album decent
>bait
a bit defensive, aren't you?
>>64273924
>implying TVU&N and WL/WH are just decent
They're revolutionary masterpieces that changed rock n roll forever. Practically every punk/alternative genre owes a massive debt to them.

Master > Justice > Kill em all > Metallica > Lightning > Death Magnetic > Load > Reload > St. Anger

Seriously? When it came out I remember countless blogposts and YouTube videos of Metallica fans frothing with rage over it.

So, is Master of Puppets a masterpiece?

I wouldn't argue that it isn't, it's a pretty good thrash metal album.
desu this is that real patrician shit
megadeth >>> metallica
