Currently listening to new Slice the Cake album, depsite the silly band name, the album is actually quite complex and progressive for deathcore, it feels like a concept album

It's also streamable on Bandcamp

>>
>>64227798
That's a great album cover.
I'm currently listening to this. If folk music from this part of Portugal all sounds like this I need to get on that ASAP. If it doesn't then I need more of this band because they are so very entertaining.
>>
>>64227798
This seems pretty neato, thanks. Saying it feels like a concept album is kind of funny, though.
>>
>>64227823
I think the cover is pretty cheesy, especially with the typefaces used.
I like that their newest release costs 6.66$ though.

>Marie Möör, Jack Belsen, Jac Berrocal, Joachim Montessuis, Gaspar Claus, Olivier Mellano, Laurent Chambert - Les Vers De La Mort [Relgob]
A very atmospheric spoken word album. I love hearing the french language, and if it's a woman that speaks it's even better! The background is very interesting (considering how many people were involved in the project it isn't a surprise) and accompanies the verses well. Sadly while I know the basics of french I wasn't really capable of understanding a lot of what was going on, so it feels like i missed out on something.
Fresh experience but I don't really plan on relistening any time soon, so it gets a 3.0!
>Bugge Wesseltoft & Henrik Schwarz - DUO [somedumbcunt]
I like techno and personally the thing that interests me the most in jazz is piano. This combination makes for a remarkable listen with some great tunes (Leave My Head Alone Brain and Kammermusik especially) and surprisingly memorable sound. I would've loved the record if all the tracks were as the ones cited above, but it's good as it is. 3.5 [WINNER]

yamir - Cantaten to Der Dyin Pruden

Well, I love the artwork, even if it really is just a panorama of your pocket. It fits the predominantly lo-fi, glum mood on here. There are some great standalone cuts, but they don't often feel very well placed. The smog track is undeniably a choice cut, but pushed to the front it seems like an underwhelming opening. The other track I really liked was 8; mournful but pretty, and with lyrics like 'how do you sleep with your cock in?' it can't fail to touch a nerve somewhere. But alas, I found a lot of this tape dreary and exhausting. Squeezing 11 tracks into 25m was probably not the best tactic with respect to the feeling that the tape aspires for.

Is this the most accessible while still good jazz album ever? I frequently played this on road trips or while hanging out at my place and almost always got compliments for it, which is surprising as most of my friends don't listen to jazz at all.

When googling something only turns up the RYM entry, it usually just means that whoever entered it in RYM mislabeled it or made it up. The only other place I could find it was on a blogspot post that I had to translate from Greek, and even though he included the picture of the album, he didn't list it in their discography.

It's very likely that it's actually another TMT release that someone thought was from 1970 for whatever reason. It could also be that the album art is not the real album art, but just a photograph, which would explain the two dates on it. Or it could just be some mad rare bootleg.

Bottom line: I'd be pretty surprised if there's a real album with that cover art.

>>
>>64242073
I don't know almost any of this so listen to the one on the bottom right on the basis that the art looks giger-influenced and I like giger
Also good to see a metal lover in daily, new perspectives are great and welcome.
I usually only latch on to really eclectic metal, any recs for someone who likes grindcore, drone doom, and shitty avant-nu-metal like mushroomhead?

Started out promising, but the back half was all pretty bad. Felt like I was at a shitty local show, especially with the really generic vocals. Good electric organ. 3/10

alright I listened to these albums yesterday so it's time for poor explanations of who advances

herb kid: Beat Happening - You Turn Me On

Prior to this, the only Beat Happening album I had listened to was Jamboree, which is a pretty good album, but not as good as this. I felt that the songwriting here was stronger than the songwriting on Jamboree and that this album was cuter (because twee woo). However, I don't think it is as good as the album it's up against, On the Beach.

Torts: Philip Cohran & The Artistic Heritage Ensemble - On the Beach

I'd say enjoyed this more than You Turn Me On. I really liked the Afrobeat influence on the first two tracks. Afrobeat's pretty damn sick based on what I've heard and I've definitely got to explore more of it. However, the title track of the album dragged on too long in my opinion. I liked the closer though. It may not have been as experimental as the tracks that came before it but it was pretty damn good vocal jazz and I always enjoy damn good vocal jazz. Torts advances.

When all the world's buildings crumble to dust

I'm on a single point, a fraction of a fraction of a millisecond and millimeter
There's an awful feeling to it all
And all I can do is watch
I'm old enough to have seen watched people disintegrate
I was the one to carry a lifeless heshen sack out to the back of our car
The yellow streetlight hung over the vet car park like a shroud
We said nothing on the drive home

Still people walk in 4/4 down white noise streets

Did you not read? You can't buy beer at a supermarket here (unless it's below 3.5%ABV, which is basically worthless).

A 50cl can of beer at Systembolaget (the only place allowed to sell alcohol) is about €1.5 for the cheapest possible.

want me to review it anyway because it's hilariously bad
>>
>>64256188
yes
>>
>>64256195
I'll upload this shit also, because it's an experience

Deafheaven - New Bermuda (Director's Cut)
First track is largely unaltered, this is probably due to the fact that it was a single and people knew what it sounded like so the soulseek guy I got it from could convincingly dupe people, although he did add a field recording of a bird (which makes it sound silly and pretentious and they would need to jump in a fire if they actually did this) and upped the compression towards the back end of the track.
2nd track begins with some weird sort of Medieval fantasy bullshit guitar picking, then busts out into black metal that is not deafheaven, it's silly and the vocalist sounds like a stroke victim, it's avant as fuck because it doesn't fit and is silly, and then I think I hear Boris somewhere then goes back to the medieval fantasy bullshit for a solid 3 minutes at the end of the song, it's a mess.
3rd track is actually ok, the dude took a shoegaze song and made it earape, not bad
4th track is where it really gets silly, the guy took what sounds like a Dio deep cut and drenched it in reverb and phaser, downpitched it and then stretched it out to 9 minutes
5th and final track, dude just took a song called by some random pagan lady called Gifts of the Earth and replaced black metal
it's a silly trole
10/10

Кoммyнизм - Игpa в caмoлeтики пoд кpoвaтью
[1989]

Russian industrial with some folky tunes and even a very this heat-like track (my favourite). It borrows a lot from russian culture: poets (mayakovskij), comunism, stalin and very similar types of folk songs. I love how soviet it is. It does run a bit on the long side though.

>The Free Spirits - Out of Sight and Sound
Jazz fusion from 1967, two years before Miles would even begin to step his toes into innovating in the genre.

I actually don't think I've seen any earlier example of genuine jazz fusion (some corny contemporary jazz with mild rock influence, maybe). So, that makes this album a pretty interesting one to begin with.

However, it's not just your usual prog-rocky or funk laden jazz fusion. This is jazz fused with mothafuckin' garage rock, ala The Sonics or The Monks.

This album features a few super fun early garage jazz freakouts sprinkled with occasional raga influence. Most of the tracks follow traditional garage rock form, putting it on par with stuff like "Here are the Sonics!!!", but when it really gets going into crazy jazzy territory is what really brings this up for me.

Wonderful. Never heard jazz fusion this raw or early before. Even if you don't like it, it's still pretty wild for its status as pseudo-progenitor to a genre.
>>
>>64259725
noteworthy that there is a bit of crummy early beatles-tier psychpop filler here but I can forgive that for the uniqueness of the album.
